The offensive innovators are fun but the coaches who’ve won the last 20 years-
Saban, Dabo, Meyer, Miles, Chizick, Carroll, Mack, Jimbo, Tressell, Coker, Bowden, Fulmer won due to recruiting and the ability to build a staff and culture.
Look at the elite teams now, Bama, Georgia, Clemson, they’re sound schematically but I seriously don’t think of Mike Locksley, Jim Cheyney and Tony Elliot as offensive wizards.
