I want Rosier gone as much as the next guy. He is absolutely not P5 material.
But, after watching some NFL games last week. I saw some similar situations unfold, in regards to QB situations.
For the Bills, they went with Peterman over Allen in the first game. Utter failure. Guy played horrible. He played so bad, I think that the Bills made the decision to say "***** it", "this guy was so horrible we might as well start Allen and let him get some experience." So lets see how Allen does. I think the Bills planned on slowly bringing him in.
In Cleveland, Baker as a lot of hype, and people want to see him start. But I firmly believe that the Browns organization actually believes they may have something to play for this year. They had a great first game, albeit a tie, when you consider the past couple of seasons. Tyrod Taylor is a placeholder, they will ride him as long as they can throughout the season, and continue to groom Baker.
Now, here is where I can draw a comparison, and somehow, wrap my head around how exactly Richt is trying to handle the QB situation.
He believes we have something to play for, being an optimistic homer, I believe the same, although I am very skeptical. I think he knows that this season won't be as good as the following ones in terms of success. Similarly to the Browns. Sure we can win the coastal and make some noise, but we will probably get slapped by Clemson, and have a very similar year to last year. I think he wants to ride Rosier and thinks he can get us to where we were last year.
Richt smells of complacency. I can hear it when it talks. I think we are farther away from last years success than Richt realizes. Rosier is trending towards Peterman more than he is Tyrod. And I think he will lay an egg in a Conference game we should win comfortably. Teams have the formula to beat him now. It is time for Richt to make a change but he won't. It has put the fans in a pickle. Now if we want a change we have to actively hope pray and root for our starting QB to suck. Thats horrible for us and for Rosier. Richt should have never started him from the jump because he cannot get it done.
End rant.
