In Kayaa I Trust

Out of all the early performers we've had under the last three coaches, he's looked the worst so far. Fundamentally he's also the most unsound and so far has shown the weakest arm as well. Who knows what the future holds, but something has changed with him. He looked far better mechanically, velocity on the ball, and tightness of his spiral in high school. If it's nerves, I get that and I hope that's what it is. What I hope it isn't is the coaches trying to change some perceived mechanical flaw and now he's just lost out there.

We'll see, but I expect we'll see him benched in the not so distant future. Edit: There's nothing wrong with that either. He was forced into a position he hasn't shown thus far that he's ready for.

Looking solely at the performance of the QB position without taking any factors into account like experience it's been bad.
The question is why? Last year while the offense struggled at time some it never looked this bad. And it's not like Morris was good enough to overcome a poor OC. So what changed? The obvious change was QB. And not just any QB, but a true freshman QB that has been on campus for less than 3 months. With this change you have a few dynamics at play that explain the poor performance.
First, true freshman QBs are going to struggle no matter who is calling plays. Having a master play caller can help some but in the end not enough to make up for the inexperience.
Secondly, due to the certitude of true freshman QB's struggling, OC's in an attempt to make it easier on the young QB scale back the offense.
So now what you have is a formula for poor offensive results. A struggling true freshman QB playing in scaled back offense.
Our only hope is that Kaaya keeps on improving every week and becomes more comfortable with the offense and for Coley to begin opening up the offense. It's evident that that is the approach the coaches are taking much to the chagrin of this impatient fanbase.

What did most expect of him? Did people really expect him to go like 22-30 with 3 TDS and 350 yards passing in his first start? After the kids first start people were calling for his head. It's just ridiculous give him time. Of he goes I to Lincoln and beats Nebraska which is not out of the question at all the fan base will be back on his bandwagon. That is in till he throws and INT then our fans will be asking to bench him again.

It's irrelevant at this point to talk about Kayaa. He's just a very small facet, unfortuantely, of this team's issues. He can't win in spite of the coaching staff. No QB can. It's only exciting to talk about him when talking abuot the next OC/HBC to groom him.

I was at the game and of we were playing any team with a pulse there would have been at least 4 picks in that game. Im not saying Kaaya won't get better, but he still has a long way to go. If Williams gets healthy he is a better option right now.

Arm looks fine when he throws outs

That's when it looks the worst, IMO. Major contrast to Morris. Kaaya too often is late and low on those throws.

Downfield it generally looks better, and improved last night compared to Monday. However, every time I want to believe his arm strength is decent enough, an example pops up in the other direction.

Is Josrwaski still alive?

I haven't heard of him in ages, Of course, I never watch TV anymore.

Hes gotten used to throwing against Miami d-backs and d-ends in practice, so playing against an aggressive coverage in these 2 games so far has been a bit of a shell-shock for him.

He will continue to develop and be just fine.

He has NO arm, is dumber than Morris, and has zero mobility.

Slurpers gonna slurp. "Wait till 2015! Kaaya!"

His arm is a good as many of our NC QBs as is his mobility. The dumb comment is well, stupid. The light is on bright in this kid's head; Steve was working with a 25 watt with haze on the glass. The long pass to Dorsett in back of endzone can be viewed two ways. One, if you choose, it was a floating J12 special and Dorsett made great play. Two, Kaaya threw Dorsett open at great distance and slide the ball over second defender, and Dorsett did what receiver is suppose to do, adjusted to ball and caught it. Kaaya is true freshman who was not EE. I am much more concerned with our Coleys-- Stacy seems completely out of whack and Coach Coley needs replacing. Last year Stacy was one of best WRs in ACC and now he is being completely outclassed by a short white kid freshmen from the Carolinas'.

I get he is a true freshman but 12-22 177 2 tds and 2 int at home against FAMU is just not good. And give me a break blaming the first interception on anyone other than Kaaya. It was just a poorly thrown ball.
