I'm done with this RPO crap

It's a good concept but it's pretty easy to pick it off when the only route they throw with it is a slant. If the LB doesn't bite on the run, it's pretty predictable what's going to happen. Same thing if the LB does bite, but there is a safety in the box... it's just not going to work

Well first and foremost to run the RPO's successfully you need a QB that can haul ***, we have one o those ?

Jarren predetermined his read the last couple games. Especially at FIU. There was no reason he shouldn’t have given the ball kn the RPO. The LBs didn’t move at all

To posters who are going to say the QB needs to run on the RPO please understand what an RPO is before you comment

no misdirection, no mismatches, no plan. Red Zone offense was horrible from game 1 till last night. How can Enos not have a ******* game plan to destroy Duke and FIU defenses. I don't care how well those teams can play D, they should NEVER be able to defend Miami that well. 2 straight weeks of this BS and no one gets fired immediately? WHY? Is Van Dyke tied to Enos? Cause I can't for the life of me understand why he's still employed.

The issue is not necessarily the RPO in theory. The issue is that we have ZERO variation off of it. We only run the slant and the safety just has to sit on it and the play is shut down. Sometimes there will be a bubble but Jarren has not once even looked at it.

It’s not necessarily rpos, it’s just that our rpos are basic and prehistoric.
Last year Richts best play was an rpo bubble, sadly to tight ends and big receivers lol, but it was an rpo concept because the overhang defender was moreso in the box than covering the slot, so just take the bubble. Enos hasn’t done this concept once, and guys like Harley pope and Thomas would all get at least 5 per catch with decent blocking on this concept, which would weaken the box.
Enos rpo is the backside receiver slant. The difference with this rpo is he’s not reading an overhang player or a linebacker. It’s a post snap rpo where the Qb is actually reading the defensive end, ala zone read. If the end squeezes to stop the run, Williams is looking for a slant. In reality, he should be looking to run the ball and force the linebacker to fill the gap that the end just left vacant by squeezing. The problem is, Williams doesn’t run, and I honestly don’t think it’s even in Enos system. If Williams keeps it and just gets 3-4 each time, it would be enough to keep defenses honest, forcing linebackers to play true responsibilities, opening up the curl flat zones that they would then be leaving vacant in the pass game.
There’s tons other rpo pass concepts being used throughout college football, one in which is the back shoulder fade now which is almost impossible to check if the corner is pressing the boundary receiver and there’s too many in the box to block... WE, here at Miami, just don’t run those. Enos is too basic and honestly just not that good of a playcaller or gameplanner. May be the worst we’ve had! Patrick Nix would’ve scored more vs fiu and duke. It’s sad

Want to run RPO, but never recruit Lamar Jackson.

Seems like a winning plan, to me. Lets see how it works out.

It's an overused, stale concept the way we've used it the last 2 seasons. It's not a dead end everywhere though.

You need a qb that processes quickly. Jarren is not that guy. Plus you should have an oline that can block well. Our oline is not that either.
