If you wrote a script like this, they'd say it was fantasy:

You left out the Adidas money and stadium renovations. That had a little something with UM going for a real staff.

I loved the writing style here. Picturing the (or us, rather) BBB as a bunch of drunken scheming Praetorians of sorts for example.

Didn't USCe hire Muschamp though? not an unknown, but a recycle.

That era of antiquity was my muse. Third century Rome FTW.

And that was shade at Muschamp.

Yes but does Mark end up a Constantine or a Maxentius -- Victor or beheaded after losing the BIG game?

Sometimes you gotta hit rock bottom before you can find your way out. From clappy to radio and then Gorlden, Miami had hit rock bottom.

Think it's fair to say Clemson was Al's Milvian Bridge.

Not sure that Shapiro, the Golden extension, all of the other crap were part of some magic rebirth of UM football. I will agree on the following:

1. Shalala was bad for UM football. If she was so ignorant about the UM brand in football, then I have to wonder about her effectiveness and impact in other areas at UM. Glad she is gone.
2. Frenk might not understand American football, but he understands school pride and tradition. So far, good for him.
3. Blake redeemed himself with the Richt hire. Clearly, he was held on a short leash by Shalala.
4. Richt has meaningful football experience and understands Southern US/South Florida culture. He has the confident personality needed to bring UM football back. Top assistants will want to work with him and recruits will want to play for him. Players might have liked Folden. But, they will respect Richt and go to the wall for him.
5. I think Richt will do some house cleaning, not only with the staff but with players. Next year might not be as as successful as we would like as Richt demotes players who can't do the job. Look for improvement in years 2 and 3 as he puts his players in place.

This was the main ****** problem but all the scholars were defending that lesbp troll pos.

Lol @ people who keep saying this

prior to addidas money miami couldn't afford to hire a mark richt. they just didn't have the money. it wasn't going cheap to be cheap. it went cheap because compared to texas, bama and them they just didn't have that kind of money or alumni base.

miami's alum most of them that aren't ex football players could care less about football , so addidas money helps hire a mark richt type by giving miami the money to spend they didn't have in past.

Yep. How happy would Adidas be if we went cheap, again, and their flagship school suffered 5 more years of mediocrity? For people to think Adidas had nothing to do with us having, and spending, big money this time around... I just don't know what to say.

I liken Adidas money to any other endorsement deal. If they give you as much as Adidas has given UM, they expect results. If they don't get results, guess what? You are no longer their endorsee.
