To the Miami team that beat ND is better then when they beat them. Our 4th quarter in that game we've didn't make the adjustments that we can now and the acore would've reflected just how good we are. We had far more new players then ND yet we dominated them for 3 quarters. If it is because it is Notre Dame (Obvious to any footballl fan)then BYU would be an 18 point dog if we played them so drop them out. BYU schdule is hype more then substance. Their loss was BYU 7 to TT 29.. we lost by 3 and in OT. Their loss showed they cannot score against a good (ours is great) defense. I know I'm ****ing into the wind since the powers that be already decided even when BYU gets slaughtered by TT again. I really enjoyed this team and was looking forward to the playoffs...sad now! Come on committee surprise me!

This is so well thought out, that I had to read multiple times. Fraggle is a National treasure.

To be fair, both teams are better than they were in Week 1 and Vegas would probably favor ND by almost a TD on a neutral field.

That said, the key difference is Mario is a better Coach than he was in Week 1 and we'd beat them even worse than we did the first time around.
They couldn't handle our dline with Bain Mesi and Blay. The way Moten, Scott, and Blount have developed would only **** them up worse. Their lines are soft as baby **** compared to ours

I don’t know if it’d be that big a spread. If I had to guess I’d say neutral field it’d be -2.5 ND and close at PK.

They’re a 5.5 point favorite on a neutral field. If we played them at home again like to start the season they would be a 2.5 point favorite. I think to start the year they were 3 points favorites in week 1.

They had trouble with Texas ATM D Line too. Their OL can be pushed around.

But they are well coached and play sound, mistake free football.

If you reranked everyone from scratch based on how teams played down the stretch then Miami and Notre Dame would both be in. Alabama would be out.

Btw, Bama and A&M both aided by the cupcake games late in the season. They should be punished in the rankings for doing that.

Many teams get better throughout the season. Both us and ND are better than week 1 and the real question is how much better. Our last 4 games have been dominate so I believe we can beat them now by 10-14.

To add to this, ND would be about a 6 point favorite neutral field against us right now. They were 3 point favorites in Hard Rock game 1 which, factoring in home field, so about the same. The big thing is, we're just a bad matchup for ND.

We have an elite run D, which directly counters what they do best on O. Our pass rush is elite and they've been mediocre in pass pro (ranked in the 60s). Their pass rush has been the best part of their D and our Oline is the best in the country in pass pro. They match up poorly against us which is why we did, and most likely would again, beat them.

I could not have said it better myself, whatever it is.

Our greatest defensive accomplishment was keeping NC ST at their end of the field for 3 quarters plus. They only advanced when we subbed. I cannot recall EVER seeing any college or pro team doing that. Does anyone know of a defene that held a team that well defensively??? I doubt it is a stat but if it were I'd imaginr we'd be on top.

🔎 Drive-Level Findings

Using the play-by-play logs:

  • 1st Quarter:
    • NC State’s opening drives ended at their own 15, 42, and 44.
    • They did not cross midfield at all in the first quarter.
    • ✅ MLQ = 1 (full quarter lockdown).
  • 2nd Quarter:
    • NC State finally broke through with a 45-yard TD pass (CJ Bailey to Terrell Anderson) that reached the ND 45.

One would think so, but we live in an age where beauty is truly before the beast…at least in the eyes of the corrupt CFP committee.

It would be a helluva game. Both teams have evolved & improved. We’re reasonable healthy & only lose can think of his Scott - big loss. No idea on ND. Agree with others that our DL is difference in the game. Also like the addition of Pringle & Toney, impactful as he was in the opener, is even more of a multi threat.
