Who did you realistically want?

I remember reading about bielema inquiring and got very excited about that possibility.

The guy has always recruited south Florida very well, is relatively young, did a great job at Wisconsin and has had Arkansas on the steady climb since he implemented his style into the program.

Guy would have been an awesome fit here.

Of the candidates we heard as realistic possibilities I think Mullen was the best fit. Dude is cutthroat.

This assumes that Herman was never a possibility and neither was Butch.

Herman would've been at the top of my list, if not for Richt coming here. Problem with him though is I doubt he would have stayed here for long. He's gonna be a monster wherever he goes.
 
I would have loved Dan Mullen, it was his second time he put his name so he's been extremely interested in this job for a while and he probably has the hardest job in the SEC because at least Vandy plays in the east.

If we didn't hire Coach Richt, him, or butch I would have considered the entire process a failure

I would have rather read that Bielema choked to death on his own fat and ego than that Miami was even remotely interested in that blowhard.

How is Brett such a blowhard? The guy has been a very good coach for
two schools in power five conferences. With the exception of Herman or moon shot (at the time) of
Chip Kelly there was not a better fit at miami
Than Brett.

I think Mullen would have been ok.
Just not as good of a fit here, IMHO. Apparently now two consecutive athletic directors agree with me.

Ideally, I would have wanted Herman (or Butch)

But knowing how the whole hiring process went, we would have been stuck with Schiano because of Blake James (and it would have been miserable)
 
Bieliema? I can't support a coach who every time I see him on TV I want to take a sledgehammer to his fat f**king melon.

Bielema sucks? Please explain how he sucks? The guy was 68-24 at Wisconsin and Arkansas has been getting better each year. Why is he under the skin of so many people ?
 
It has everything to do with it. He's a fat f**king sleazebag who would not be a good fit at Miami. You clearly don't understand him, his philosophy, or south Florida.

This is ridiculous, what does it matter? We got Richt. We lucked out with the timing.

This off-season is already getting out of hand.
 
Herman is who I really wanted but I think he is holding out for the Texas job. Of the candidates they interviewed, I liked Mullen but would have been happy with Butch as well. Ultimately I'm just glad Golden is gone and we didn't get stuck with Schiano.
 
Herman was the number 1 choice for me. To make Houston look that well coached and play that well vs FSU was impressive to me. I know he hasn't been on the head coaching seen for a while, but to make the impact he did with Houston and when he was the OC of Ohio State was elite. I would throw big money at him if I was a Power 5 team.
