....can bench a star quarterback like Jalen Hurts who lead them to a couple championship games; why is it so hard for Richt to bench Rosier? He hasn't done anything of similar value. Rosier was a fluke last year. Lets be honest.

All these studs need a stud throwing to them. Rosier is no stud. I'll take Kosi's length, arm and legs over Rosier any day. The mental part will come with experience.

Make the call Richt.

Agree with you. But Hurts wasn't a star caliber QB. He just happened to be good at some things. People hyped him up because of his W/L record and was saying it's crazy you could sit a QB that was 26-2. Not taking into account that Bama's success is mostly predicated on having the best defense in the country.[/QUO

I think the entire SEC fan base will disagree with you. He didn't have flashy numbers but for me anytime you go 26-2 in the SEC and one of your losses is the natl championship game, you are a star. No way around it. The man balled out. He did it with coaching changes, players leaving, pressure to perform at Bama, etc. He is a quarterback that will not put his team in harms way. Allows the stars to be stars - wideouts and running backs. He is like an athletic Dorsey. Smart. Not a huge cannon. So do you consider Dorsey a star quarterback?

Because Saban is an alpha

I actually don't consider Dorsey a star QB. But he was good and was smart - that's what you want first and foremost. If we're going by your metric, then every QB that Saban has had at Bama is considered a star. That team is loaded to the brim with 4 and 5 star talent. They continuously walk out the best O-line and deepest stable of RBs along with a defense that's absolutely loaded. Going with W/L record as a metric for a QB is very flawed and dangerous as a coach if you consider that as a reason to not make a change. Saban of course agrees with this line of thinking as he had no problem pulling Hurts at a crucial moment which won him a natty.

Not sure what you're saying. I'd say it's a similar situation. Malik was 11-3 overall going into LSU, and isn't a star caliber QB. Pretty similar except Hurts had a better record, so why won't Richt bench him?

having tua helps but thats why saban is saban. its his system. that man had the balls to throw a true freshman in that
title game and it worked. Urban meyer has won with young guys too. that is why when you think of bama you think of
saban. when you think of OSU you think of Urban. just guys that are alpas

I simply disagreed with the notion that Saban benched a "star" QB as the first thing anyone points out with Hurts is his W/L record. I'm also of the mindset that Richt needs to bench Rosier. But given Richt's interview on the Joe Rose show in how he praises Malik for putting the ball only where his receivers can get it, I don't see anyone unseating Rosier anytime soon; not that they're not good enough, but that Richt seems to be way too emotionally invested in Rosier to give up on him now.

Richt coached some big time names like Ward, Weinke, Murray, Stafford, etc. and continues to give Rosier the benefit of doubt. Are we not seeing something CMR sees? Weird.

Saban took a Championship qb and benched him for a Tua a better qb.Dabo realizes that Bryant can not throw well enough and is already playing Lawrence a freshman to replace him.Smart is playing Fields to see if he is better than Fromn.
Jarred Williams outplayed Lawrence in the US Army game and looked like the best qb in spring and he is fourth string behind two qbs who could not beat out Rosier knowing the playbook.

This... what are we missing? At UGA he loved running double TE and Jumbo sets, using a ton of backs and FBs, why is he now a horrible QB evaluator and only into RPO's? I guess you change over time as the sport has changed but I dont expect Richt just woke up one day and forgot how to train up a QB. Right now he is not showing us hes some QB whisperer thats for sure.

Really perplexing, but if I am him, I say **** this ****, put some of these freshman in the ocean and see who can swim.

CMR did pull Rosier for the Pitt game but we had NO developed backups, Allisson transferring was an issue, since he would have been the most ready to play. Now we have 3 QBs that are not fully developed but can be developed during actual games.

Pick the best one and go.

I do respect his loyalty to the players and their families, Rosier is a Cane and will always be. Thanks! But CMR owes it to the rest of the team to the University and the alumni to play Saturday another quarterback.

This is the part that ****es me off the most... The first thing that crosses my mind is who gives AF if Malik knows the playbook from front to back when it’s clear he can’t execute it? Sadly the answer to that question is Mark Richt. He gives AF if Rosier knows the playbook even if he can’t execute it. As a teacher he prefers the student who knows all the answers to the test but come test day he freezes up and fails over the students who study hard and might not get a 100 but can pass the test.

The Hawaiian is just considerably better. That’s the only thing here guys. If the backup wasn’t as good or maybe a little better but not a lot better. Then hurts would be the starter
