Since I believe that Manny should be our DC anyway, I think a stud recruiter who could pull in a lot of talent and help with the defense, could be a good thing. I wonder if they can reach out to Simpson and bring him back with the title of DC. Have him run the DL and help with organization on the defense.

They are bringing in a chief of staff anyway, so perhaps, this could free up Manny to do the one thing that he’s actually good at. I’m sure I am just wishfully thinking here. And makes too much sense.
 
Let manny go all in and run his defense himself because obviously it looked much different when he wasn’t doing so. That would at least give him a chance to turn this around next season. Then hire another assistant that’s an elite recruiter which is assuredly needed

Manny’s defense is all smoke and mirrors. It gets shredded vs legit competition.

Go out and hire a top notch DC and let him run his own system.

I like the San Diego State guys.

Either Rocky Long or Zach Arnett.

If thats what you want, why Simpson? Why not someone like Corey Raymond?

Because, I don’t feel that our defense of line plays with the same technique, moves, strategy, and energy like they did with Simpson.

So, since I think that the defenses answer is right in front of him when he looks in the mirror, I believe that if he brought Sampson back to run the defense of line and to help with other organizational duties on the defense, and a brand new chief of staff to pick up the slack on other head-coaching responsibilities, then our defense, with Manny running it, Could return to form.

Manny didn’t want highsmith being hired in a position of authority, you think he’s going to give away his influence of his defense? I highly Doubt it

Baker’s system is not as close to Manny’s as most think. It’s much more read and react than attack.

And Manny had no problem with letting Baker run it.

Bottom line, this is Manny’s dream job. He knows he can’t **** this up.

The Stubblefield thing was very promising in that regard. He could’ve kept him but pushed him out.

I full expect him to go after a top DC if Baker leaves.
