Ice Influence and player development argument again....

How much influence do you guys think ice has in the war room?

I mean who knows sofla recruits better than this guy? He has to be at least a SMALL part of the recent turnaround... ya think?


You think golden has taken a few pointers or nah?

And now that Golden has let the boys lose and assuming he does against FSU.... what then can be said about his development skills? Because i'm really starting to think his stubborn attitude regarding his approach to the game on game day against certain teams is the only thing holding him back.

Because the players actually look developed when he trust them to make plays.

And this is what angers me. This is what makes people look stupid as **** for calling the "mopers" arm chair coaches and all this dumb crap people say when you know a little more about football than they do.

The coaches are doing exactly what WE SAID THEY SHOULD DO and now we are not only winning but looking the way we should look.

How did this team take on a new look basically from one game to the next.
Same players, same coaches.
Is it a change in philosophy only?
Anyway, it was great to watch the team represent the U the way they should.

Besides, football isnt rocket science. people act like you have to know sacred geometry to understand it.

With that being said, thank you for your opinion on the Ice thing because its hard for me to envision all of the coaches gameplanning and asking for opinions from each other and a guy as knowledgeable, fiery, and win at all costs as Ice is just sitting back twiddling his thumbs saying "yes coach" to the crap al and dorito like to do.

When your job is on the line all things have to be taken into acct. all resources must be exhausted. Im pretty sure the players all know and respect ice and im pretty sure ice knows exactly what it takes for them to have fun on that football field.

Even if its just something small and seemingly miniscule i think ice has somewhat of an impact on Golden and the temple crew.

Exactly football is not as difficult as they make it, I don't know how many coaches try to shoot down what people say about how to coach football. I quote " I've been coaching in this league 20+ years, I think, i know what i'm talking about, you have no idea how much preparation and coaching we do at this level, people act like they have all the answers but have no idea, **** shame." Me, being a nice family member or family friend "okay well why do they make it more difficult with these terms that really mean one thing, this is only football we are talking?" Then i get shot down like I'm some scrub. What's sad is that most coaches thinks they created something "new" when they just change one or two things max.

Proven teams that run basic offenses but have high success Michigan State, Mississippi State, Auburn and Oregon Ducks, Fact! Yes their defense has help them throughout the year but i just laugh.

Like franchise said " just because you got a job doesnt mean you were qualified for it" a lot of people slip through the cracks and a lot of people are so stubborn they don't know when the game is changing( al groh).

Yes, they may know more terminology than me and have access to better technology but general football concepts dont change and the things a lot of us arm chair coaches say ring true when that game comes on.

I argued against kehoe haters for months only to see all of them quiet.

i told them jacory harris was better than whipple was making him look. lo and behold he gets jedd fisch and throws under 10 ints in a season.

But at the end of the day, since we didn't decide to coach for a living we are scrubs lol. f it.

you can add bama to that list of teams with simple offenses and stanford.

watching michigan state just disgusts me.

a bunch of walk ons - 3 stars playing with more flair, swag, style and aggression the kids who were born to do it. smdh

Don't you hate when they try to intimidate with their "terminology" meanwhile you just laugh it off like yeah okay..

Plus playing the game, you know most of them are full of crap, what they don't tell you is that most players make up for their inability to coach.

Or, and this is just a crazy thought, he left Randy and built the most dominant high school program in Miami-Dade while developing and improving his coaching skillset. He's been, "under Golden's guidance," since March 18th, not even 8 months, and has a more than impressive coaching track record on his own. I think giving Golden credit for Ice's contributions in foolish.

That being said, I don't how much Ice has contributed to player development and such. I do notice that Duke, Gus, and Yearby run over to him after a play almost immediately and he gives them advice so I think that at least indicates that they do value his opinion tremendously. But to say that the sudden breakout of the running game is squarely on Ice is nonsense when he has their level of talent at the position to work with.

Has he helped? I think so. Is he the reason for our recent tremendous improvement and turnaround? Nah.
