We did this same exercise last season. The new College Football 27 video game has officially been released, and what better way to play than by running some simulations.

We do these simulations for fun, but also, sometimes they come close to the actual score. Last year on College Football 26, when I was running the simulations Miami was eliminated in the semifinals of the College Football Playoffs.

The simulation was done on Heisman difficulty, using custom sliders to create a more realistic gameplay experience. Here’s what I found, along with the game simulations:

Overall

There were some ups-and-downs during conference play. However, the simulation had the virtual Miami Hurricanes getting back to the College Football Playoffs and the National Championship game before losing to the Ohio State Buckeyes.

 

I lost to Duke too when simming.

Miami, SMU, and UVA all were 11-1 and top 5 at the end of the year.

So I’m assuming UVA and SMU played for the ACC title then

 

I'll take it.

I'm going just a touch lower because of who our HC is, but I think we flirt with 40.

I think it'll be lower only because inferior teams (most of who we play) will try to shorten the game similar to what we saw FAMU. Limited possessions will limit our point total

 

And even bigger question is how many catches did our TE’s have, particularly Lofton.

Did they block their man in punt protection?

 

So I’m assuming UVA and SMU played for the ACC title then

Miami uva in the title. Not sure who beat who in the tiebreakers but UVA SMU ended up in the quarterfinals of the play loft

It would be cool if you ran the simulation multiple times to see different scenarios

I would only post the one that we win it all, and a story line that Norvell kept his job somehow.
