I miss the ping -- Bat change article from 2011

I sort of miss the old sound and action of the old bats. However, I'm getting used to the new bats. In some ways getting rid of "gorilla ball" has made the strategic part of the game more interesting and teams are still getting the bat on the ball so good defense (which I particularly enjoy) is still important. All in all not a bad change.
 
I like the strategy of baseball and good defense and pitching. Still miss the ping off the bat.

How bad do you think the change hurt us when it happened?
 
While I wasn't a fan of the change I like it now. Gone are the days of shortstops hitting 20 homers. The guy leading the nation only has 19, that use to be half a seasons worth.
 
The change in the ball next year should help some. I miss it a little but dang they use to hit so many bombs that it almost was not fun. But at the same time now isn't too much fun either. Something in between would be great. Maybe the ball change will accomplish that. Could you imagine Collins with the old bats?
