Watching Romeo's video at the end, he said the defense is playing better the last few weeks due to Manny being around. He said the scout team and up and is playing harder cuz if Diaz is out her watching and you don't perform, you are not getting in the game.
I hope Diaz is spending more time with the whole team and not just the starters. It takes all the guys and as the head man, you need to give love and discipline to THE WHOLE TEAM to get the most out of team.
Hopefully, he is learning a lesson and applying it. You must include ALL the player, in some way, or they feel like no one cares if they don't give 110%.

Kinda soft from the players stand point. But I get it some ppl need external motivation.

This is a lessons learned for Diaz. One that some coaches never adapt to and fail. But as the head man. He’s got to have his finger on the pulse of this team at all times. And take extreme ownership of their results in every phase.

considering the garbage staff he has, he's doing amazing really

but at the same time it's his fault this garbage is even here.
Orlovsky respects Enos. I value Orlovsky’s opinion. Done. It is coming together.

Defense has the stats. Done.

Thus, I respectfully disagree that the staff is garbage. But we all have opinions.

Good to hear, but...
Where we want to be is every player practicing harder because other players are watching.

... and when Miami gets there—then you'll have The New Miami; which was a long-term goal, not an overnight fix.

When you're taking a program that went 7-9 from Pitt 2017 and lost to a slew of lower-level ACC teams it should've beaten over that run—you get a better picture regarding where this program is at.

No, the Canes didn't need a full bottom-to-top rebuild; but there are certain aspects of this program that need rebuilding—striating with consistent effort and guys always playing at a high level, as that wasn't the case under Richt, Golden, Shannon or the latter Coker years.

These are all positive steps forward and base on what we've seen three of the past four weeks, Miami is getting closer. Reel in a few more solid classes with this attitude and things should be just fine.

Says more about Blake Baker's lack of leadership than anything--that a player would fear the HC and playing time and not their coordinator who in theory should be spending more time with these guys than anyone.

Just let the players play down hill Miami Style football and the Defense will be fine all this exotic stuff Baker was trying to do was killing us in Key situations remember in Year 1 Manny had to learn that the hard way too

Yes, it does. That is what you want. You lose that and the team is lost.
I am on the fence with Manny, however the team has not quit on him. That gives me hope. If he can recruit at a high level, that will be the next step for this program to get better.

Thats all fine and dandy, but what the **** are we paying a DC for???

The demands on a head coach are high. The learning curve for a first year coach is high. He needs a DC in his first year if he wants any sleep at night. Maybe in year 2 that will be different and he flies solo.

As much as Diaz should be overseeing the whole team, he also needs to delegate and it's more of an indictment on Baker not commanding the same respect.
