It was wildly obvious that our play calling on the first drive was vanilla, but the **** worked. Why didn’t we go back to that? It seemed to assist the o line and get play makers in space. Also, why did Jeff Thomas have less jet sweeps than KJ Osborn? Jeff is CLEARLY the more impressive and elusive talent and KJ the better technician and pass catcher.
I wondered most of the night watching in person why it felt like Jarren was handcuffed. Then when it seemed too late the offense chose to try to stretch the field. Jeff Thomas beats a kid with 2 ACL surgeries time and time again yet we never attempted a deep post, double move on seams, more crossing patterns with the TEs or anything to open the box up all night. Hence the 10 sacks.
I feel like for a person who spent as much time as they did under Mullen should’ve had a better understanding of his intricacies.
