How Would You Feel About Rumph As DB Coach?

Don't like the idea of hiring another high school coach, but I trust Richt in whichever decision he makes.

It doesn't really follow with the experience level of the rest of the staff he's putting together.

LOL at this thread. Like anyone on here knows how good of a coach he is. I will take Richt's judgement over anyone on here everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. If true, good luck to Rumph.

There are high school coaches who know just as much about technique and tactics. A lot of these coaches go to the same coaching clinics. How many coaches go from college to the NFL which is a totally different level. The same goes for High School to college.

Since Richt has coached some of Rumph's players, he would have an idea how prepared they were when they entered the college level.

Love the idea. A+ recruit getter. Plus he'd obviously just teach some technique and little nuances of the CB position. I imagine Hartley would really be coaching up DBs

stop making so much sense

Hired gun to croot and do some basic corching. Have him be the bag man with a super short lease, can him the second we get the chance at a better coach. What's not to like?

Let's see, former Hurricane, check. The Sun Sentinel Class 5A-4A-3A-2A Coach of the Year after leading the Patriots to a 10-2 record and a berth in the regional finals this past season, check. . He amassed a 39-6 record in three years at Heritage, check. Former #1 draft choice of the San Francisco 49ers, check. Six years in the NFL at a starting CB, check. Started on the best college football team in history, the 2001 Miami Hurricanes, check. How can anyone criticize this hire as a Cane, local south Florida product and someone that coaches know and respect? Good hire and glad he has the opportunity. A solid B hire, with upside.

I'd give it a D-.
