He cost us the 2000 NC with his offensive coordinating against UW. Most fans wanted him fired as OC after that game although somehow he became head coach the next year. He also cost us the 2002 NC against OSU. The most amazing part is that he almost cost us the 2001 NC-twice. That is before Ed Reed stepped in against BC and the butter on the WR's hands stepped up on Va Tech's 2 point conversion attempt. Arguing we should have won the 2003 title is a bit of a stretch but if someone good is the coach maybe we do.
So we would have won 3 or 4 straight titles if he had never been with the program. Due to his presence we only had one. Even Golden or Shannon didn't do that much damage. I'm not sure who has a worse track record at costing their teams championships- him or Erik Spoelstra.
