How many more coaches are we waiting for?

Think Beard coming back, Scott will coach TE or OL... Diaz will double as LB coach...IMO...just wondering on DB coach, and if Scott coaches OL or TE, who will coach the other???
 
Well im not exactly sure how many coaches youre allowed to have on staff, but I thought it was a max of 10 position coaches? (not sure if thats including HC or not)

So far we have announced: HC, DC, RB, DL

Still need: Another OC (unless Brown and Richt are the Co-OC's), WR, TE, OL, LB, and DB

That all adds up to 10 including HC. If we arent counting HC, then we can add Hartley as ST coach as part of the 10.

Yes, its possible Diaz will be DC/LB, so that opens up another spot.

Everything should be ironed out in the next week before the dead period ends Jan. 11.

I think it's nine coaches. Unless your name is Alabama then you are allowed as many as you want.
 
Beard isn't coming back.

We're going to hire an experienced WR coach and give him Co-OC title.

Last 3 are WR, TE, and DB.

Then S&C.

You get 9 assistants + head coach.

I think Jon Richt will be quality control and not count against the 9.

CMR HC
Searels OL
Hartley ST
Brown RB
Diaz DC/LB
Kool DL

Hartley could take the TE's or DB's.

Need DB, TE, WR and last will be LB or QB coach.
 
The offers to Lilly and McClendon signal that CMR does not really want to retain Larry Scott or Kevin Beard but may do so if he cannot find a better option.
 
I'm pretty sure we have the ability to hire a LB coach since we are using co-OC. I understand Diaz has coached them everywhere else.

I guess that's something to watch
 
The longer this is taking the more I think beard and Scott will be retained. I also think we hire another coach for DBs (Safeties)or LBs since we won't reach 9 assistants with the current set up.
 
I disagree.

The longer it takes the more likely Richt is looking for better options.

If Richt can't find someone better than Kevin Beard, I will be very concerned.
