How many can we take ?

who wants to bet me that we cant & wont sign more than 4 more on signing day, in addition to who we already have committed?

4 more spots. thats it.

suppose we could always drop bethel and make it 5...

With all the attrition, 28 is the number we can bring in with 3 counting back to the previous year.

We won't drop a MNW kid on signing day. Ever.

Only 4 spots left?

The key to numbers for this class are the two grad transfers: Odenigbo and Boulware. When Richt said 27, did this include the two grad transfers? Because if it does, we're screwed numbers wise. It the two grad transfers are IN ADDITION to the 27 for a max total of 29, then we're rolling!

We already signed 19.

Miller, Bethel, and Silvera make 22.

Odenigbo and Boulware make 24.

That means if 27 truly is our hard limit and the grad transfers must count toward this number, we'd only be able to sign 3 more from the following list: Chatman, Ezzard, Chatfield, Campbell, Surtain, Coburn, and Ojomo. So what do we do if Chatman, Ezzard, and Chatfield send in their LOIs Wednesday at 7AM, and then we get a call from Coburn or Surtain or Campbell saying they want in?

Now if the grad transfers are in addition to the 27 number which allows to take 29 total kids, we'll have room to sign 5 more from Chatman, Ezzard, Chatfield, Surtain, Campbell, Coburn, and Ojomo. Ideally we get Chatman, Ezzard, Chatfield, one of the AH CBs, and finally one of the Texas DT longshots.

But this is all just speculation. Only the coaches know the real numbers. I have a gut feeling though that maybe numbers are tight. Just a feeling that Ezzard and Chatfield are being slowplayed a bit, for some reason, i feel like those two would have committed already if they could. I do think slowplaying CHatfield AGAIN is a huge mistake if this is what is happening. And if numbers really are that tight, i think the 4th WR is the most expendable spot, and should go to a DL or CB.

Man...what a great problem to have.

If the scholarship matrix is correct, which it appears to be updated as it reflects Tito Odenigbo and Venzell Boulware, we currently only have 76 enrolled.

Who knows what the initial counter situation is looking like, but our hard cap 85 is 9 away assuming ZERO attrition.

by my rough calculations, yes. would love to be wrong and see us take 5 or 6 more, though. would finally give me more certainty.

Don’t worry about the numbers.

We say this every year people worry about numbers.....when its elite guys they will get them in no matter numbers

How exactly. If we have 4 spots and let’s say we have 8 guys sign, then what? Do 4 guys have to transfer?

Hey listen Im with Pete and others and believe in the saying, if there elite we will make room. Its not like this is a stacked MR roster, theres guys that can be pushed out. Bama does it if a guy doesnt prove he was worth his ranking, happens all the time and people think its about playing time. If they aint playing its probably them.

Richt said we would sign 24-27 before Young went down. Thinking we can go to 28 if Rucht wants to. We have 22 signees and commits now

I agree, just not sure how they make it work. Seems like we might actually hit our limit this year.

This guy keeps trying to start a numbers problem and he's WRONG. Don't pay attention.

What are the real numbers then?

The main number to be concerned with is 85 total on August 1. That will be no problem as we ended up approximately 10 below at season end. Initial qualifiers should not be a problem either as transfers do not count until s later date. Staff can sign up to 28 and will work it however.

I wouldn’t worry about numbers, we have quite a few leftovers who can be shown the door if we hit on all of our remaining targets

29-30. Richt said 27 before the DT's and Young. He also wants spots open for transfers. Since the grad transfers don't count he wants at least 28 now. We have the room to sign everyone on the short list if they all commit.

cmon man, no need to act like a child about it. we have room for 4 more. thats 28 total new scholarships, and it includes the 2 grad transfers.

i could be off by 1 or 2, and if you believe so, the floor is yours to show me how.
