How I’d handle things going forward.

You guys realize that timing for change at Miami will be important.

USC already searching
LSU is close to firing Coach O
Plus any other P5 schools in the market

It would be awful to go through all this anguish, waiting for change, and then be like FSU or Tenn and striking out on legitimate candidates and then just settling for your 7th best option

even if LSU were to fire O right now, were likely not shopping in their pool.

Starting by replacing the AD would be the smart move since there is no real benefit for getting rid of Manny immediately. That said, there is no benefit to keeping Blake in the role if a change is definitely going to be made. Of course, you could also apply that Blake before Manny logic to Julio before Blake before Manny.

In any case, the time to act is now if they want to keep the fanbase.
The real Great Replacement @Alex Jones

Why would you fire him now if perhaps his buyout drops dramatically a month from now? Believe it or not the University and boosters, if we have any left, aren’t fond of wasting millions more than they have to.
Logically, your last sentence makes sense. On the other hand, Manny’s hiring cost nearly $10M in late 2018 for no real reason.

tbf, you prolly won't know the extent of how poor the teacher is till after evaluations at the end of the semester. it'd have to be some kind of scandal to get a change midway through
That may be true in practicality, but it's just a question of knowledge, not duty. If the school did have knowledge of the issue, they'd presumably have a responsibility to act on that knowledge. Football incompetence is a lot more public/visible, so there's really not debating that they are on notice here.

Methinks you overestimate academia's willingness to act on incompetence. Ask any college student. But yes, if the French teacher was displaying their breathtaking lack of French on national television week in and week out for three years, I suppose they'd make a change lol

If it takes two more loses then I have no faith in who ever is making decisions at Miami. TWO MORE IS ******* INSANE. HES SHOWN WHO HE ******* IS A MAYORS SON WHO IS IN OVER HIS HEAD
Haven't you seen enough evidence of this already? If you have been following Miami football for the last 25 years you should have already lost faith in their decision making when comes to football. One disastrous hiring after another.

The president is detached from football. Only a few of the BOT members follow football and are really involved. The president, who is supposed to be communicating with the BOT consulting with them and evaluating his AD is in La La land.

Blake should be assigned head toilet cleaner and be made to work the remainder of his contract scrubbing toilets.
I disagree. I think Blake lacks leadership ability. He'd still need his puppet strings pulled for that job as well.

Luckily with Diaz, you get a birds eye view of his effectiveness at his job on a weekly basis. With faculty professors, you have to wait for feedback.

I’d love to add on to this but won’t lol. I’ll just say if a change isn’t made take Unc and the points regardless of the spread.
Probably has something to do with a person in a high place. Someone with connections. Someone in a position of sizeable power.
Golden, Richt, Diaz. These are symptoms, not the statistical root.

Blake James has no leadership quality. No vision. No pragmatism. Only a people pleaser who waits until the fans complain. He is the single causality that links the three together. It doesn't matter who they hire until we get a shark in the A.D. position.

#SACKBLAKEJAMES
Blake James is exactly who they want... a puppet. What we need is a reckoning within the athletic department. A total overhaul with actual qualified people that have a vision to 1) Make Miami athletics matter to the local community. 2) we need an AD that is a person of the people. A public person that can work the grassroots from Overtown to Little Havana to Little Haiti and on up to West Palm. 3) a commitment to student athletes that Miami will surround them with people that they believe can make dreams come true. We have to show athletes that Miami is their best shot to professionalism. 4) the wins will come
