How good is Jameis Winston?

He hasn't lost a game in college......yet.

I'd say that's pretty fckn good.

and jason white almost run two heismans and wasn't even drafted. what's your point? college and the league are two very different levels of competition.

My definition of someone that is good in the NFL is "anyone who is in the NFL".

So yeah.

this thread is about his NFL potential.

No it is not. Re-read op. The question is "how good is Jameis Winston?". The answer is: "in college, as good as it gets."

real talk, i said this at the beginning of the season, but losing Kelvin Benjamin was going to hurt Jameis. Kelvin bailed Jameis out a lot. He has a slow delivery and you can get away w/ that, but not in the NFL. He's college athletic, not NFL athletic. He's a lumbering athlete which works in college, but not on the next level. In the NFL your physical gifts better match your mental gifts and vise versa (see Jay Cutler, Jeff George, Vince Young, Kyle Boller, and Matt Leinhart off the top of my head). He'll make it to the league, but don't see "star" on the next level. It's not b/c he plays for FSU either, it's from what I'm seeing on the field.

Mentioned it in another thread.
Jimbo designs plays for one read. That one player is open by play design and thus makes it look easy, especially in a pro-system.
This why Ponder and Ej Manuel are hot garbage in the NFL and were exceptional in NCAA. No full field awareness. Last year he had studs receivers (as shown by Kalvin Benjamin looking good for Carolina too) so they made him look real good too.
Name me one QB in the NFL that Jimbo coached that is good? LSU? Nope!
Like another poster said, pretty slow delivery, still has a bit of a baseball wind up. Not particularly great pocket presence, he's just athletic, rather then aware of the pocket. (Think the difference between RG3 and Andrew Luck)
I expect him to take the same path as Manuel.

You gotta be kidding me......
Every QB Jimbo touches has been a first rounder. Yeah none of them have performed at the next level, but that is more than anything that they overachieved in the first place with him. Show who is better? Also if it really was a one read offense, you would think somebody would have figured that out by now......

These dudes are hilarious. The guy won a Heisman and a NC as a freshmans and has never lost.

Now, he's a product of a one-read system and Kelvin Benjamin. LULZ. Anyone ever stop to think that his freshman WRs might be busting routes this year leading to some of his INTs? Nah. No way. Funny that when he throws to Greene he's deadly.

A scout I follow on Twitter...Jeremiah maybe...said the following:

"Marcus Vick off the field, Drew Henson on it."

So yeah, prettay, prettay, prettaaaaayyyyy good.

Who said anything about how translates to league? That wasn't the question. He is phenomenal, man hasn't lost a game yet. I hate the Noles more than everyone..but anyone who says anything negative about his on the field talent is just nuts and a homer. Yeah, he throws some int's but he wins and is clutch when he has to..

With that said I hope we beat the brakes off that ***.

The ones who says he sx r the ones u pay no mind when it comes 2 grown football talk.

anyone that sais Winston sucks or is not as good is lying and so is anyone that sais he is the best ever....

Winston will get destroyed in the NFL... he trusts his receivers to do too much and the # of picks he is throwing is not some weird phase... he is an awesome college QB. but he is very beatable... the NC game last year he was a none factor

Jaboo is **** good. Without him this year and the team has three losses, NCST, ND, and Loserville.

Dude is a winner and has a tremendous arm. As far as the NFL, I see some hiccups in his game. 1. His delivery is very long. He looks like he's throwing a guy out at home. 2. He baby hops in the pocket when he steps up. His footwork is going to have to develop. I hate his guts

Perceptive on your part, that's the baseball I saw the same thing but didn't draw the connection.
