How does everyone feel about our LBs next season?

I know it was just some high school from Louisiana, but Brooks played very well. I mean he wasn't MP but he really looked good. Hopefully McCloud comes out strong and is a leader, however there are a few of our young guys that I'm really excited about.

Obviously, depth and experience is scary.

What do you guys think?

Love our LB situation. We have plenty of depth when you consider we generally only play two linebackers most of the time. Brooks and McCloud will be an improvement over Quarterman and Pickney in my opinion, because they won't pick the same wrong gap to go through every time. Jennings, Huff, Joyner, Steed, Austin-Cave, and Flagg add plenty of depth. We are actually four deep at both linebacker positions.

We will also be loaded at the striker position. So I don't understand why people keep saying we don't have depth at linebacker when we actually. We may not have much experience, but we have plenty of depth.

What a take..

I'm not really worried about our LB play. Yes, we lost a lot of senior leadership. And yes, Pink and Shaq have talent. But Brooks and Huff are different animals, athletically. Austin-Cave is another one (and, I think, underrated). What these LBs lack in experience, they should be able to make up for by being faster and more athletic as a unit.

CB position is what has me worried on that side of the ball.

Agree...I think our LBs next year will be much more athletic

We once relied on three true freshman to carry all the weight at the LB position with no upper class guidance. I think with McCloud sticking around this year to help them come along, combined with the athletic ability, we will still have our bumps but we will be fine. Now the secondary...

LB recruiting should never, ever be a problem at Miami - much like DB - since there are always loads of solid LBs across Florida.

We don't really have the numbers and we've had a lot of injuries - and Diaz isn't too good at recruiting and signing top LBs.

We'll see how we do, but up til this point, our best 2 LBs recently (Shaq and Pinckney) were from the Golden years.
