How different would the conversation be if we had stepped on the gas and stomped ND?

Based on the narrative “ND is the better team now and would be favored on a neutral field” it didn’t matter how much we beat ND by

Galloways idiotic “Miami really beat VT by 10” is a perfect illustration of creative writing to support their overall agenda
If that’s the case and why don’t they just do Vegas odds and pick the top 12 teams

I don't think it would matter to the committee if everything else after the game stayed the same. They could still claim ND played TAMU close, the first game doesn't matter, we lost to two unranked teams, etc.
I in my opinion it would matter
If we would’ve finished that game off convincingly and curb stomp them the committee wouldn’t have the balls regardless, but a three-point loss that got tight at the end gives them enough ammunition to go ahead and do what they’re doing

Be fair. We didn’t all say that. I was elated we beat ND. I was very happy we beat UF (though expected). I’m always thrilled when we beat FSU.

All the while, I despised the ‘hold on tight, let’s safely dock this boat’ approach. @skyman and a handful others have been riding this train the entire season.

It’s easy to argue the happy path while the path remains happy. That’s what went on. Except the happy path rarely is sustainable. From little sequences like you just described to instances like sitting on the ball against UF before half (‘it was raining, Lu!’).

To whatever the **** we did against FSU. We sort of saw it all come to a peak in Dallas.

Sometimes, some of us are arguing football and it’s not about mopery. Separately, I genuinely wonder if Mario learned his lesson.

I’m fascinated to see what we’re going to do when things very likely ‘get tight’ this Saturday.
Excellent post I am right there with you. I am literally fascinated to see what we do. Does he turtle or does he blow up and be even more aggressive?
I hope it’s more aggressiveness because maybe meathead will learn to like it😂

Let me be clear Fck ND. Like really f them.

But no one ahead of us has worse losses than us.

We have a #21 SMU and an unranked Louisville. Both of those came in the last 30 days.

Bama loss to trash *** FSU but that was in August, beat UGA and lost to a decent OU team recently

ND dropped their first two and hasn’t looked back since… and those losses are to the current #3 and #12.

Yes head to head matters but so does when you lose and to who. And it appears the weight of both is pretty even.

All we can do is control what we can control. We beat ND week 1. But then we let Louisville come our house and beat us at the time the media was saying “this is the time of year Miami tends to unravel… let’s see if they hold off?” Smh.

That’s **** matters… we can debate whether it should or shouldn’t but I truly believe if we were only sitting with one loss we’d be ranked ahead of ND.

We’re the only team in contention who has lost to two teams that we are absolutely better than.
