How did you become a Hurricanes fan?

Here in New Zealand you had to be watching NFL or nothing in the mid 2000s...

One day I realised all my Favourite players where from this thing called "The U".

Still remember discussing this with a good friend of mine ..."wait so Edge, Gore, Willis" All the same school? "Wayne, AJ, and Santana..."ST, Reed, Rolle' as well..."so just the f*cking whole pro bowl basically?"

Hooked. Grew from there...Have not missed a game since 2012 which is a absolute mission down here trust me!
 
Moved to Miami in 89. Bought a house in Coral Gables about few blocks East of campus. Started going to games in '90. When I walked my two Labradors at 6:00 am down Andora Avenue I would bump into a group of UM football players ... pushing a pick up truck loaded with players. They would push the truck up and down Andora Ave ... leg day. So I felt sort of a bond with the players ... we both did a morning work out at the same time and place. Used to bump into Erickson at the Taurus as well. Would walk over to practices on Greentree sometimes. Lot of great memories.
 
Watched random games here and there in early 2000s if I turned TV on and we happened to be on. Actual moment was my first game as student, freshman year 2004 vs FSU, Gore winning it in OT. The tailgate, the student section, the OB...I was hooked since that night.
