How bad does losing Bush hurt for Virginia?

They lost some key players to their OL. That can only hurt their chances of pulling an "upset". If our DL gets pressure, this game will get out of hand early.

On Thursday, Virginia released its injury report ahead of Saturday's home game against Miami. The hits keep coming.
The Cavaliers will be without left tackle Sadiq Olarewaju, left guard Ryan Doull, and cornerback Brandon Phelps as they fight for bowl eligibility.
Here's the full injury report:

Bush has been playing like a first-team all-conference candidate the past 4 to 5 games. The drop off was huge in the 4th quarter last week between Bush and Carter. That being said Carter needs to step up. We're not exactly playing FSU tomorrow.

Great opportunity for Carter

IMO Carter has all the ability, but he can't tackle for ****. I could see him taking off in the secondary if he learns how to tackle. Thats my issue with him.

He better be ready cause he has a great opportunity to make a case for a starting job next year.

I don't his tackling is all that bad, but more like he's not a fluid true safety IMO. WLB is his spot if i'm in charge of the defense. He has the same mentality, hunger and ability as Grace with **** near the same measurables. ****, if anything, I personally thought when they came in that they should both switch positions with him at LB and Grace at DB. Probably why I work in IT and not coaching.

....and eariler before the season started, folks was comparing him to ....cant even say it its ridiculous

I like carter's potential a lot, but no safety "learns" how to tackle. Either you are a killer or you're not.

Carter can work on angles and play recognition. You know things that a decent coach can coach.
