Hard to believe it's been 30 years!

Events like these help to remind all of the winning tradition of the U and gives current and future players a history lesson and insight into what it takes to be champions.

Ha, I was 9 years old watching the 83 Orange Bowl. I still remember my dad telling me that college football teams would have to change there mindset regarding players because of “this Miami team”. “This Miami team is small but fast”.

My dad was very traditional when it came to football but he fell in love with Miami football that night. We lived In Norfolk, Va and only got to see regional unless it was a big game. Needless to say, after that game we got to see them regularly

Wise man, your dad

Look at the names of the players on our old powerhouse teams.. Chock full of guys that played better on the biggest stages. I can see GR as becoming this type of player for us now. What other current Canes do we have that play bigger and bigger when the stage gets bigger? Is Deejay in this category? Who else? Real Canes

Was anyone else at the Orange Bowl game that year between ND and Colorado? Any time Miami scored the stadium would randomly erupt in joy from people listening on transistor radios and watching on portable TVs.

3rd and 43 is a life memory. I had flown down the nun a sat next too in South Bend the year before and put her in the seat next to me on the 50. She had hit men the year before when I mentioned we had many more Catholics in our starting 22 than her beloved ND. I love nuns so I flew her in for the revenge game. It did not disappoint. Thrill caught the frigging ball right in front of us. I said with smile, "See. Sister, we get miraculous plays, your guys just cheat." True to her habit, see hit me again. Funny thing is, back then I have dozen season tickets but I usually sat in the West for love of the atmoshere. That night I sat in my premium seats so the dear sister would not be exposed to us West beasts. Turned out to be act of Mercy that gaeve me fantastic return. I have many great Cane memories but that play and that night remain number one.

I was there as well....Great Moment...Loudest Game I've ever heard in the OB from start to finish....even at halftime you couldn't hear yourself think...

Perhaps the greatest of all from that team will not be coming back home.......

The only game with noise that could compete would be the Fin playoff game against Ken Stabler's Raiders. We were so noisy that night, Ken got up on the bench and waved a white towel -- we took it as sign of surrender. Still, the ND game felt louder. The ND game in the Rock in 2017 reminded me a little of it.
