Didn't read, but I always want to puke when hometown boys desert their chance to impact their communities. They rather come back thru in their foreign and a neck full of gold. Way to go Kam!

Nice story. Those monitors are ruthless. Coaches don’t have to guess who played hard in practice, who ran the most and the fastest, the monitor tells them. And now each player sees where he is daily or weekly relative to teammates. This is a great way for a coach to put pressure on a player, especially a young player. The coach in me loves the value of the information but boy its tough to have your effort graded every day.

I'm no coach, but Kinches was docked for not running a minimum of x yards in practice? In zone coverage, if your assignment is a flat zone, you can still cover a 10/15 out route if you split the difference. Maybe, if Kinchens isn't overcommitting, is this why he hasn't traveled as much as his peers? A la, Ed Reed made a living out of taking two steps towards an obvious lane, and then screaming to a counter lane.

Freshman safety @KKinchens24 grew up cheering for his hometown Hurricanes. Now, he's ready to make his community and his family proud, while chasing some big dreams in orange and green instead of CHASING BAGS like other S. FL kids.

Aye. Numbers are good, but do the numbers reflect effectiveness and the right intuition?

Work is really good.

Work smart is much, much more productive.

Ok 90% of practice is running drills, everyone runs the same drills. Everyone has an opportunity to turn on the jets, and other than scrimmage time they all generally get the same opportunities to get steps in.
It’s not like the U coaches are the only ones using these units to track players. To the guys questioning the use of these I’m not even sure what to say. Lol

Great kid. These articles are starting to do it again. My optimism is growing as the season gets closer. One of these days it will be well placed and rewarded.
