Homer

I think everyone is making Homer out to be way more than he is. Might want to temper your expectations.

He's the same guy he was last year... Give him a crease and he can house it..

He missed a huge hole on the nine yard run , it should’ve been a td.

Deejay on the other hand makes everyone miss, never goes down on the first hit and has good vision. Also has elite balance. With less experience.

Even Lingard was running full speed yet changing directions , killing mofos softly, he has unreal change of direction and runs physical. He knows when to juke people and when to lower the pads.

I love Travis....it’s just some things I’ve noticed.

Homer is Alfred Morris, but slightly faster. RPO offense is not good for him.

I don't think you did but I do know that I got destroyed for saying he was an average athlete with decent vision. I just forgot the thread name. I like him too but the guy gets his yard with guts and effort not vision.
 
Imo something seems off for sure but I dont Know. Imo both deejay AND homer looked more explosive/faster on a few runs they broke vs LSU than they did vs Savannah state but that’s just me:monkey-serious:

I am pretty sure I was the first one to say this about Homer. I said Dallas was better with this particular OL, bc you need to move laterally in the backfield to make guys miss - the line gets pushed back that bad.

With a dominant OL, Homer would look like the better RB. He runs downhill, and if there's a crease, he hits it and goes... hard. Without a crease, he is limited.

Dallas doesn't have that same top end speed of Homer, or even the acceleration, but he has patience, vision, and footwork. He doesn't need a hole to find yards. My preseason prediction was that they would be a lot closer to 50/50 carries than everyone thought. As of Week 2, it looks like a solid prediction.
 
I always thought he played too fast.

Whatever the call he was just in a hurry to get to that spot. Works when the play is blocked correctly, not when the hole is filled.
 
Been a big fan of Homer since he committed. But he's not a play making, gamechanging RB. I think the muscle mass he's added has constricted his best attributes. He doesn't have wiggle, but he was always a nice one-cut back. He doesn't even seem to have that explosion off his cut anymore.
