Hire who?

Blank check to Matt Campbell. Fvck the rest of that noise. Force him to say no
Why do you say this?

You really think he is that kind of savage....the dude who lost to a G5 team.....this guy has bad losses every single year.

You'll want him gone too, and he'll break our bank with your blank check.

I think he's a great coach and i would take him here, but you're fooling yourself if you think he's a home run hire without risk.

I keep seeing this crap about firing Diaz and hiring proven coaches. I'd like to know who you guys are going to FORCE to take the job given the type of coaches you want are interested. Then when said coach doesn't come here then what?
Lots of Auburn fans are asking themselves this very question.....if 2020 has taught or reinforced anything, it's that it can ALWAYS get worse.

I was going to say this. Auburn literally paid $21m to get rid of Gus, when they KNEW there was no coaches available. Now to sign anyone they're going to have to spend astronomical amounts of money again to even get someone in. Interesting times indeed. As far as UM, we don't have that type of money to throw around. We just don't. Dont @ me lol.

Every coach is a risk.
Hiring Campbell instead of Diaz in 2018 when you put their resumes side by side is a no brainer

NO **** right - Its not as simple as that, and there is major fallout when you change hands of an organization, that would hurt the program severely at this point. In a challenging year being 8-2, with all ACC play, no cupcakes is still a great year. The super negative canes fan bull**** is so old. He has earned the benefit of doubt in showing how he responds and changes things.

I will say, there does need to be growth and an adjustment to Manny & coordinators game preparation and in game coaching. Coming off a bye week, with losses as he has consistently is coaching. Lack of in game adjustments has also shown through. He cant be players best friends and needs to set a stronger tone, period.

However, he has proven to be the best in the longest time, at building a program, which is very challenging. The way recruits and analysts view the program now is far better than it has been the last 15 years. #TNM, and the caliber of recruit over the past few years has been very good, with many of our recruits being better players than their rankings in some cases. There has been team unity, and again due to a good job building a strong recruiting department. There is cohesion between recruiting, the coaching staff and the school execs. Has has brought back in old canes, and ensuring that family ties vibe is there, which is huge for long term success. He has been quick to right his wrongs, i.e firing last coordinator and bringing in lashlee. from that choice we landed King and are likely landing our top QB recruit in 20 years! He has connected wtih players like no other coach, and they are bought in with how he has handled the BLM protests, and helping them with things off field such as voting. This resonates with players and families, so he's doing a great job building the foundation of the program - They just need to toughen up and prepare better than they think they are.

Every coach is a risk. Saban was 6-5, 6-6, 7-5, 6-6, and then 9-2 at Michigan State before he took the LSU job.

The eye test for Campbell goes in his favor. His teams play hard, they love him, and there is arguably no worse job in the P5 than Iowa State when it comes to facilities and recruiting area.

He's done a phenomenal job there and would be a home run hire for the Canes. But we won't get the opportunity, because he'll be gone if/when Manny gets canned.

People don’t understand outside Saban and Dabo there are no home run hires. Teams will drop games. What I ask is we become a program where the recruiting results match the record. Beat everyone you’re better than on paper. I get upsets happen, but if you’re playing this years schedule you look competitive and well coached against Clemson, and dominate the rest because you have superior talent. A close game against UNC would’ve been fine, but what happened Saturday was inexcusable. Just start with making us sound SMART, and schematically well prepared. Beat the teams you’re supposed to without struggling EVERY week. THATS A FANTASTIC START AND CHANGE

Now explain hiw you'd MAKE him take the job.

Do you know how many Iowa State players have been drafted since Campbell was hired in 2016?

2. That's the grand total. 2.

You can say his players play hard for him, and that's great, but any recruit with his eye on the NFL is not going to be interested in HC that has such a poor track record of getting players to the league.

Oklahoma State is actually just below Iowa State in total annual revenue. Gundy has sent 27 to the league since he started in 2005. Id rather roll the dice with Gundy than Campbell.
