This is EXACTLY the type of head coaching gig Golden will end up with after us....

This is where he can find that that type of player he likes to build with...grind out a positive record and make himself a cozy little world.

Actually PAR....he has shown that he isn't able to match up with the good teams. He's just not good enough of a coach to play in the A league. But outside of that he walks the walk and talks the talk...does solid recruiting a certain type of player..one that fits a more "underdog" mentality.

Golden will land another gig for sure...at a smaller school like this or as an assistant somewhere.
As long as the expectations aren't that high...he'll be all good...and it can't happen soon enough for me!
 
Randy Shannon had the exact same record in Miami as Golden does now. His next stop was position coach. At least Shannon, as bad of a coach as he was, proved he could beat a team with a pulse (FSU, Oklahoma, etc.) every once in a while. His next stop was position coach. I'd be shocked if Golden ever was a head coach again once he gets fired from Miami.
 
at this point I just need him to finish this recruiting class and then...What he does after that is on him...

I am just hoping that if this man is fired next year it does not kill the class that we are building for 2016

Golden was a head coach before UM and holds a better press conference and interview. He get a better gig then shannon. I actually think he be a good MAC coach. Winning 6 to 8 games a year a getting few players in the NFL. Plus he likes to slow down the came and play bend but don't break defense which is prevent for pulling out a 27-17 moral victory lose to a big ten school.

Exactly Jack. I dont mean to compare coaching ability with Shannon cuz they both suck as HCs. But in a MAC situation with marginal expectations Golden can shmooze his way to a cozy gig.
Shannon is just a miserable guy who has no poker face...and no desire to get one.
 
I don't like Golden. That being said, I think if he got a legit D coordinator running a 4-3 he would do well. He is very likeable and has good intentions. His biggest problem is that He has been too loyal his 3-4 D and to coach no D and Franklin.

He's an idiot for not changing and it will be his downfall and own fault.

****, he can't match up with bad teams either....2-10 Maryland, 4-8 bc in 2011, 5-7 sPitt, a terrible Virginia team from a few years ago etc etc. in some cases ( bc 2011) he had a hide talent advantage and still lost. Golden isnt partially garbage he's an all around failure. He's press conferences are a joke now with all the excuses.
 
Asmuch as I want Alice Grolden out of here I wouldn't unload him on anyone, but I'd dance to Justin Beber if they did hire him.

Golden is a white man so he will get a chance to be a head coach again!!!
 
Considering their coach left to be an OC at another school, I doubt they are topping 1 million in salary offered to HC. Golden is making at least double what they could offer.

You're missing the point PAR. All of those teams are STILL leaps and bounds better than what would be waiting in a place like the MAC. It took all of us a little digging to really find out that Al couldn't cut it as the HC for a school like Miami. There are coaches who get hired and re-hired all the time with bad records....for some schools it's just about having a coach that just doesn't make life miserable for the University.
