“The atmosphere was great,” he said. “Obviously the outcome was terrible, but I did love playing in that stadium.”

Liar.

While I don't condone such behavior I can only imagine what's going through the players minds when they pull up and bus windows are being smashed lol. Game was over before they got off the bus.

I was there in the WEZ. First time.

Ive described it before, but its hard to put just into words.

It was unbelieveable, and I'll never forget it for the rest of my life.

That bandy interception was amazing. Way, way louder than the TV broadcast gave it credit for.

Yeah, I know, move on to next season and all that. But, I can tell my kids when I have them all about the time that for the briefest of moments; I travelled back into 1989 and saw a glimpse of the Orange Bowl.

And it was good. :)

ND's LB said the same thing after the game. Also, I remember Jon Gruden saying how loud the stadium was against NE on MNF.

New HardRock Stadium is about 65k
Some of the the road games Smythe has played:
Michigan - 115k
Texas - 102k
USC - 92k
Michigan State - 75k
Arizona State - 70k
Clemson - 82k
Florida State - 82k
NC State - 58k but they played NC State in a hurricane.
Standford - 50k
NFL Philly Eagles (Temple) - 69k (Remember ND played Temple when temple went 10-2 and the stadium was packed for that game.

Good company.
