To Paul Hilton, "Butch," Davis Jr..

Butch Davis turns 63 years young today, the same age as one Mr. Nick Saban who currently prowls the Alabama sideline.

Mr. Davis once famously resurrected the Miami program while serving as the head football coach from 1995-2000. He assembled without question the greatest collection of talent in college football history and he continued to stockpile incredible amounts of talent at North Carolina while giving them a program they never once had after a brief stint in the NFL as the head coach of the Cleveland Browns, a job he regrets taking and hurting the University of Miami.

Mr. Davis can now be seen on ESPN with a ******* in Mr. Robert Smith while they talk about news and notes of college football. Mr. Davis enjoys waiting for job offers, fending off lies from UNC about an academic scandal people are attempting to scapegoat him for, and supporting the Miami Hurricanes.

Thank you Butch Davis for all that you once did for the University of Miami and may potentially do in the future.

Who won this many national titles 0.... And left like a thief in the nite after empty promises.... Which led to probably the most underachieving era of the program all that talent and 1 ring to show for it...... Thanks butcher

Who due to the previous group had to soak up 31 scholarship reductions, which led to a true rebuilding of a program threatened with being given the sudden death penalty just like SMU. Who should have had trouble recruiting for UM with this long-term set of sanctions, but persevered anyway, building the greatest college football team ever assembled.

Who personally recruited 28 first round draft picks up over a ten year period, while Saban has only had 22 in the last 12 years.

Who was unable to meet UM's skewed buyout requirement in the contract negotiations, and left for the NFL.

Thanks Butch, for everything you did, and like JJ, Saban, and Spurrier, we recognize you had to give the NFL a whirl.
