Mario talks now like he understands we HAVE TO GET BETTER. Invariably bad teams do improve through the year and our recent Canes have started almost every season on fire only to collapse late in the year. I hate seeing us so highly ranked and I've mentioned being disturbed that at least one quarter per game (usually the 4th with 16 points ND and 19 fsu) we have not looked like a ranked team. Finally, all the pundits are talking about that aspect of our squad. Do we get tired? Do we get lazy? do we lack depth? I think it is up to the coaches to analyze why and I think they will recognize that Rueben doesn't need to play every defensive down and we have players anxious to get a shot, fresh legs when the opponent faces a long drive is when fresh legs can thrive. With our defensive attacking the way it does is wearing down opponents, so recognize that and send in players that have been watching and learning. Let Bain Mesidor and a few LB's come out and suck up some Oxygen before sending them back in. I've seen other teams do that to spike up their best players. To rest the defenders plan to take time off the clock, we have the horses to do that. We’ll find out if they actually get it as the season winds down. Late season swoons need to be left in our past, Rick did it, Manny did it and yes, Mario too!.

I guess you mean me yet I bleed Orange and green, seen our program almost drop football (no not the Sports Illustrated time) when attendance was low and no one had a real interest. Watched George Mira Senior, The Stork play and then Lou Saban came along from the buffalo Bills and reformed recruiting and had a stocked team to turn over to Howard in 1979. Then came the 80's where our dynasty developed and still there was little interest. I used to go to the OB on the cheapest ticket and each Quarter take a different view of the game by moving to anywhere I wanted to. Burger King gave out free tickets. Here was a team that was moving into historic proportions and no one cared until after1982. Yet still against weaker teams no one showed up, I did every game I wasn't stuck at work. I gave many friends an invite and turned them into Canes. Watched us set a home field record 58 consecutive home wins, I got spoiled.

Last year I really thought we were back and was disappointed with the end and I criticized out of love for my team and I see with the accolades today signs that we might not be improving with 2 4th quarter miscues and worry that we will get too big for our britches leading to a late season swoon again like the last few years have been...we get into the top 10 or 25, seem ready to be back and then start dropping out late. 5-0 is not a big deal, 12 and 0 is and that’s where we should be at the end of the regular season. Anything less, any collapse, based on what we have will be a disappointment and deserve scrutiny.

Fraggle, what’s the most gruesome thing you saw in Vietnam?
Thank you for service.

Fraggle was at the program opener against the University of Havana. His loyalty is not in question.
Too bad about what happened with that young QB Fidel. The kid could have been a decent Portal transfer, but he ended up going into baseball, then politics. Took a wrong turn....

Respects, sir!

Depth is a problem for every team. Especially at DL. We have already been bitten. Lowe would have taken probably 20 snaps from both Bain and Mesidor a game. But yes, we need to find someone else to take those snaps. I would like to see a combo of Blount\Lightree taking more meaningful snaps.
