Golden vs Urban - RIP MIAMI FOOTBALL

Miami is not OSU or Bama.

We're not Michigan, either.

Miami is going to have to follow the Baylor and TCU model: Get the right "under the radar"/"up and comer" coach, and KEEP him once he starts winning.

No proven guy is coming to Miami. It's not gonna happen, IMO.

Too much pressure to win big, with too few resources for support.

Auburn fired their entire coaching staff 1 season after winning the national title. They ate the salaries, and brought Malzahn back from Arkansas State. We're stuck with Golden for another season, after 4 mediocre years. That should tell you about the commitment from the university to provide resources.

To resurrect this program ... We need "the next big thing", IMO.

Not ranting, Bro. It's all good!

I am talking about Urban at OSU who had to face sanctions worse than Golden.... and got to the NC in year 3!!

He proved himself at FL! So he is proven coach.

Buy a clue buddy, before your rant.

Saban was once an "up and comer" ...

Urban was once an "up and comer" ...

Miami has to find the next "up and comer" ... Then, once he proves himself, Miami has to do everything possible to keep him.

Fire Golden, then make the right hire ...

And sorry to disappoint ... But the "next up and comer" ain't Butch ...

Nonsense!! Miami cannot risk anymore "up and comers". We passed that bridge 10 years ago.

We need a proven coach just as Urban was when OSU hired him. And Butch is proven!

What are you talking about?!?!?

Urban wasn't proven when Florida hired him. He'd won at Bowling Green and Utah. Winning at those schools is the definition of "up and comer". Lol

And did you really compare Butch and Urban?

One got sat out 1 season ... The other guy is "still waiting for the right fit" 4 years later. Lol

You "Butch fans" are delusional. If he was really that great of a coach TODAY, someone would have hired him by now ...

Stop looking backwards ... Be progressive. Find the next Chip Kelly or Gus Malzahn.

These monster state universities are killing college football. They are able to hire these professional grade coaches, pay recruits under the table without consequence from the NCAA, and demoralize opponents with their superior (and bought) talent and coaches. These schools don't give a rat's butt about educating any of the kids that play for them. In fact, I bet most of these kids never go to class, and the NCAA looks the other way, choosing to punish smaller private schools for minor offenses and perpetuating the dominance of these huge schools. The college game is becoming unwatchable and boring . Soon there will be only about ten teams with any chance of winning a NC. The rest of us will never have a chance. I'm losing interest more and more every season. it's really sad. They're ruining the game.

Got it right. This is about the same situation when Miami came on the scene in the 80's. NU and OU were the big dogs(interestingly running option offenses) We destroyed them and turned college football upside down, saving it from boring death dance. Those big state schools have taken it back, first through BSC and now the playoffs. Miami and USC are the only schools that get huge punishment because they are private and threaten the power structure. We could repeat history with another good coach. Butch could recruit toe to toe with Urban and Saban -- his NFL 1st round greats is unmatched. Maybe they could out coach him on the field but they are not unbeatable. If we could get an administration that decides it likes being THE U, we could indeed bring it down again. Our old defenses would short work of Urban running QB offense or the Ducks hurry-up. Anything like a real Cane offense would eat Bama's slow fat defenses alive just like we did the old Big 8 defenses. They have down all they could to get ride of us, but the extent of that effort shows exactly what a threat we are. Half-*** president and decent coach would give us a shot.

As much as we want butch, he's not in the same league as *** and a lot of the other coaches today. Its been what 14 yrs since he left us at the alter.
