At least Golden spotlighted yards per play and percentage of possessions with 3 and out. Those are indeed two vital categories. I'm not sure he's mentioned them previously, probably because we've been so inept.
Not many defenses can sustain in college football. That's why I never get carried away with efforts like at Florida in 2008 and hosting Florida last year. Both times there were unrealistic projections regarding our defense on Canes forums. If the talent level and intensity and coaching aren't special, the long term results will regress. I'll be satisfied with anything from 5.2 to 5.7 as our final number. Significantly above that is not realistic, IMO.
There were whispers about AQM cheating on a test. I remember that from a thread this summer. I've learned that lots of students and fans with connection to the program post on Canes sites. Normally their info is accurate. Whispers tend to play out. The administration is probably still determining the severity and penalty. I won't be surprised if he's gone for quite a while. Hopefully not permanent.
