“Look at all the great teams. There are certain times the offensive line, or whomever, says, ‘Hey, the game’s on us. We’ll take over.’ Or defensively, ‘Hey, the game’s on us.’

“You need that on any successful team. You have to hate losing that much that you can’t be denied scoring, converting a third down, stopping a third down — whatever.”

Torretta refuses to put the blame completely on coaches.

“The players have to play,’’ he said. “I’m not going to put it all on Al — or on the players. But at some point you need to make plays to win a game. You have to close the deal.’’

Gino, mio amico, these are all Fraulden's recruits. Whatever they're lacking falls on Fraulden's slumped shoulders. It's Fraulden The Incompetent's job to recruit talent; then develop and motivate it. History shows that he's in over his head. He's NOT getting it done. If the players are incapable, it's STILL Fraulden's fault. He chose them. He chooses who plays. He chooses their practice. He chooses the game strategery.

You're on the BOT. Why are you letting Fraulden get away with this INCOMPETENCE? Why aren't you calling him out?

Yeah but the players have taken on the coaches "average is ok" mentality. There is no killer instinct in the players...

So, Gino, if #Dale calls a bad play, or Doritos calls a bad play, the players should overcome it, or should they freelance and change the play?

Gino is right, BUT these players are what Al makes them. Gino speaks of a time when winning was what mattered. Now all that matters is doing things Al's way without deviation. For that reason it is all Al's fault. He does not allow players leadership, only player Head Followers. Gino's teams would have lost with this dude -- way to many ME players those days.

Wel, this difference is that when Gino played the coaches always had the best players on the field. Why in the **** did Dallas see the field in the second half. For one he was terrible in the first half, but we were down players. It is what it is. However, late in the game Deon And Rashawn Jenkins should be the safeties. Then there is the matter of what exactly the **** was Jamal Carter being coaches to do at the end of the game? Please someone give me a legitimate reason. If your losing, you do what you have to to try to make play, it does not matter if you give up another score, that is the risk you need to take to try to win the game!

It's clear that Al's biggest strength is brainwashing people. Look what he has done to the team and Board members. Had us as fans and media going for a while before we caught on. How do the players and board not see right through his scam?

Gino,

That would require the players to "rise to the occasion". They are specifically coached not to do so. The only successful coaching job this staff has accomplished.

I think we ALL know that players have to execute and this is 100% on the coaches. But it doesnt matter, Al still needs to go.

I think Gino is trying to say that at some point, especially in big games like this, SOMEONE has to say "We are not going to get embarassed today and we are going to play like TRUE Miami Hurricanes."....It has to be senior. WRs have to make plays. RBs have to finish runs..Kaaya has to be a playmaker. Guys in the secondary have to take it PERSONAL that will be going against an all-SFla WR core (Rudolph/Lane/Wilson/Phillips) and play with some pride.

I saw a UF team that was NOT going to lose on last Sat. You cant coach that. You can put them in the position to make the play, but those guys went out there and made plays and dominated.

If they can do it, we can do it..I hate Golden too but I wont accept zero effort like we saw in 2010 and an embarassing loss to FSU and then just blame it all on Golden afterwards. Too easy..

Isn't players saying: "‘Hey, the game’s on us. We’ll take over’" the epitome of rising to the occasion?

That's exactly what Golden instructs his players NOT to do.

Gino Torretta is obviously not a good listener, because Al Golden in his per game speech told the players "don't rise to the occasion, trust your training instead". ESPN put the **** thing on short clip that it plays often. So did what they were told to do, by the head man.

ESPN link to Al Golden pregame speech about not rising to the occasion.
