Gerald Willis will be someone's nightmare this season

Listened to an SB nation podcast and they interviewed tomahawk nations editor and he made it very clear "Gerald Willis will be on everyone's radar by seasons end" when asked about the 1 defensive player in the entire country that is under EVERYONES radar right now. If that can be said by one fair minded fsu writer for a guy who hasn't played one meaningful snap for Miami I'm all in. He quoted him being a guy who got into multiple fights at recruiting camps and if he harnessed that into his talent he'd be a terror.

Thoughts?

If the guy can keep his aggression on the field (in a good way) and stay out of trouble, he could be elite.

we'll see. fifth on depth chart is not a good start.

he obviously has the talent and the best coach in the country to make it happen. if he doesn't end up a first round draft pick he has nobody to blame but himself in my opinion

Everybody in the 2 deep (and prob some on the 3) with this D line are gonna get tons of reps.

This is supposed to be the "Go hard-Go fast" D.

I'm sure there will be some cracks in it this year because of depth issues but it should be fun as fvck to watch!

He's the #1 DT off the bench. That ain't 5th string buddy. One thing you can say, every time there is a scrimmage write up his name is always mentioned. He will be hard to keep off the field even though McIntosh is making it hard to unseat him.

Him and AQM are the 2 guys im most excited to see. Spring game, he made the most plays on the line. I like Mccintosh, but its surprising to me that hes staying in front of Willis. Were in for a treat watching this d line. Cant believe season is only 1 week away.

He has to control his aggression. That hit on Winston a few years back was asinine. (But still made me laugh of course.)
If he does something like that with us he should be suspended for a few games. Can't put up with dumb penalties like that.

The Dline is the one unit I am most interested in watching this year. That being said, asone old coach put it, "potential just means you aint done nothin' yet". A lot of "ifs" and not too many certainties.

I thought he was also getting some burn at DE. I think he will play a lot, and if he has success then its pretty hard to keep a guy off the field. I think he could have a big year as well. But, we really need AQM or Chad to step up first. Pretty sure Willis will be on the filed as a DT on most passing downs at the very least.

Lol. He aint no fifth string. He has been the number 3 dt all camp. He is the most disruptive dt. None of those guys have been getting as many sacks and tfls as him. I think he will lead the DTs in sacks this year.

And consider when he transferred he must have hated UF. I mean he hit the lotto didn't he? Maybe we will as well!!

Either we're gonna hate hit or other teams will...there's no in between with him

The legend of GW grows with each passing day. Amazing performance from a player who hasn't played a single game day snap for the Hurricanes...and appears to continue that trend until at least 10 Sep.

You know what "potential" means? It means someone who hasn't done anything yet.

The only nightmare this player has caused is for the Canes coaching staff.

I don't know what 5th on the depth chart means. But, when I got the chance to see him against our 1s, he made more plays than any other player on the field. He's built for 1 gap, upfield pressure and destroys running plays going away from him as much as pass plays where he's going upfield. He simply slipped between OL better than anyone we have.

So, don't know what he'll become (a 3-4 NFL SSDE is my prediction), but know what I saw.

Yea lets suspended a baller for a "few" games for an unsportsmanlike penalty.....

Where do some of you come up with this ****.

Pay no mind to the depth chart. The guy will be actively rotating with Norton/mcintosh and I'm guessing that he will be the main DT on pass rushing downs.
