Game 3 Hattiesburg Regional: Southern Miss, 7:36pm

this tourney has been crazy. But this is usually when the Ivys really run out of steam. But at worst I’d love to see them hit enough to get into Southeen Miss bullpen.

Not saying we can’t win if we get to Monday…but I’d rather just finish it off today. All of our advantages disappear tomorrow with what we’d have left on the bump.
 
I sat with the USM team chiropractor at breakfast this morning. Super nice guy and very well informed.
Thinks they will throw a bunch of 2-3 innings guys against Columbia in the first game and throw their #3 against us. Tomorrow they would throw their #1 guy for all the marbles. This is a perfect scenario for them.
Let's hope for a 12-11 type game that lasts 4+ hours in this hot sun in the afternoon game.

Do college baseball managers typically pitch their Friday starter on Monday if they make it to Monday?

Really short rest. Not cool to these young arms.

That’s my guess, particularly because 7pm is off their main slots and ESPN2 doesn’t have an early evening game with the WCWS and Sunday Night Baseball, but they won’t decide until late afternoon.

You will see some crazy **** today and tomorrow with the pitching, to advance to the Super Regionals. No one five starters, much less four ....

Middleton is not coming back on 1 day of rest off 90 pitches (their #1 guy) and Adams isn’t coming back Monday on 2 days rest off of 75 pitches (their #2 that they threw game 1). Not sure what he’s talking about

We need to be rooting for both offenses right now. Let both of these teams use all of their remaining pitchers here. Gimme a 16-14 game that runs late so the winner has no break before the night game and no pitchers left.
