Why did we slow play him again ?
No exact reason given however we did indeed slow play him.

This was the last update we got
- The Canes hit at West Boca last year with Javian Mallory, and are looking to go back to the well. DT Jamar Thompson remains a strong option, and the staff loved their in-person view of CB Loia Valade, who moved to South Florida from Tennessee. He is a legit 5'11, 180 with verified 4.4 speed. Keep an eye on that name.

Never saw d$ say that we love Thompson — compared with that said for other prospects — when searching for other tidbits

If Thompson is who we get to replace Jenkins to go with Ayangbile and Johnson, comparing DT spending to WR,CB and DE we went cheap wich I think means we're spending big on one of the top available portal DTs.

and this is the game against one of the best teams in dc i saw...i think st johns.

He isnt 6'3.

looks to be about 6'1 300+ but the dude is active and has performed his sr year for sure.

If he is only 6’1 then my tune changes a bit tbh, that isn’t the body type that I imagined.

I know “believed to be” is far from verified but that’d be pretty irresponsible to report if he is truly no taller than 6’1. No 6’1 300+ isn’t the end of the world, but it changes my opinion of what he can be here and would temper my expectations some. I will say he doesn’t look the longest in that video though.

If he was 6-4 300 he would be committed to Georgia not GT or most likely us as we would have jumped on him early.

We passed on Calijah Kancey even though he was 6’0 280 and he ended up as an All-American at Pitt. Please lets focus on production and not just measurables.
I agree, production is important for DTs. The staff will do what they do but just an fyi thompsons actual counting stats haven’t changed much at all from last year. On the pace to be nearly identical.

That doesn’t mean he isn’t playing better etc etc just wanted to point that out

How is his motor? He doesn’t seem to have a non stop motor like most of the DL this staff goes after, could be the reason for the slow play.

Miami will be hitting the portal with some money at DT so whatever the staff thinks on this kid. He wouldn’t see the field for multiple years either way.

I think Scott should return and take the NIL bag verse being a 4th rd pick
