Well, folks. If you had “David Njoku not returning to Cleveland in 2026” on your offseason bingo card, congrats, you’re doing better than most of us.

After nine seasons in brown and orange, Njoku is officially moving on. The former Hurricane wraps up his Browns career with 384 catches, 4,062 yards, and 34 touchdowns, and he’ll now test the free-agent market.

Saw him at a HS football game a couple of years ago. I never realized just how big (no Diddy) that guy is. He's one in a long list of 'Canes banished to the frozen tundra of NE Ohio.

Njoku posted a short thank-you message to Cleveland, making it clear this one wasn’t easy, but that it was time. For a while, it really did feel like the Browns had found their guy.

That feeling peaked in 2023. Njoku had the best season of his career, 81 catches, 882 yards, six scores, and a Pro Bowl.

Then things kinda went down hill for him:

Injuries, bad quarterback play, and constant changes on offense made it tough for Njoku to ever stay a focal point. By this past season, his role started shrinking, younger players got more looks, and the writing was pretty much on the wall.

Now he hits free agency at 29 years old, still the same ole David Njoku, and still a matchup problem when used right.

For Miami fans, it’s a reminder of how fun Njoku was in Coral Gables, and why someone else is about to talk themselves into him real quick.

Cleveland turns the page. Njoku gets a fresh start. And somewhere, a quarterback just smiled.

What's his NIL $?

Mario kicks tires on him?

We byke?
