Here are the records of corches or coordinators that I used to hear suggested for the gig back during the Golden search:

Ruffin McNeil, East Carolina: 5th year, 5-6 record (.593 win percentage at program)

Chad Morris, SMU: 1st season, 1-9 record (.100)

Dana Holgerson, WVU: 4th season: 5-4 record (.550)

Mike Leach, WSU: 4th season, 7-3 record. (.386)

The lesson here is stop suggesting guys who have done nothing special in their careers. None of those coaches had any business at Miami, and their subsequent records have proven that.

In fact the only suggestion that I heard back then that ended up any good was Dan Mullen. If you have to present evidence as to why a coach could be good here, then he's a corch. That should be the rule at Miami.

Chad Morris is in his first year dumb ****

And he's 1-9. And you had clueless folks begging for him to be hired at Miami. He can't win more than one game at effing SMU. I bet you were one of the geniuses who suggested him.

you say that as if smu is a decent program. they were 1-11 last year. i have no opinion of chad morris, but smu is a dumpster fire program and will never be a power like they used to be. kids would rather go to ******* rice before smu.

7-3 at wazzou is impressive to me

Was going to say the same thing. How long has it been since Wazzou was a factor in the PAC Fudge? I'm not a shill for Mike Leach but I think he has done yoemans work up in Pullman. I think we all get your point but it really goes without saying that there is always an element of risk involved when hiring a coach who hasn't established himself yet. To me Leach has proven what he can do and that is taking a garbage program and making it competitive and exciting. That being said I'm not sure how his style would play here. Not in terms of offense but what defense would we see under him? Is he capable of taking a decent team and making them champions? I don't know. As we all know, there is much more to being a big time head coach than running an exciting offense.

If you combined the support for those four coaches, it probably would've been less than 5-10%. Not that many people wanted those guys. I don't remember anyone saying we should hire Ruffin & the only person who wanted Dana was uncle luke. Pirate has his small following and. a lot of people were waiting to see what Chad Morris would do as a hc.

I assume you're talking about before this season started.... 2% of hurricane fans (I'm not apart of that 2%) knew who Chad Morris was in 2010.

And they were 1-11 the year before. How about giving a coach more than 1 year before declaring them a failure? Good, G-d, some of you people are clueless as to how this works.

I wouldn't at Miami, but I also don't blame him entirely for SMU being 1-9. Mack Brown went 1-10 his first 2 years at UNC and ended up turning UNC into a top 10 program by the time he left for Texas. You have to look at everything in context.

Randy Edsall? Absolutely! Another MUST INTERVIEW!

My unofficial count of candidates is approximately 318. All interviews should be complete by March 1.

Keeps those names coming. We have to perform an exhaustive anal exam of each one. Our Proctologist Consulting Group is waiting.
