I am sick of hearing about the past. There is no such thing as playing Miami football, there is no such thing as play defence the Miami way. Holy crap. Things have changed. Wake up. Maybe it's just the fan base holding on to past glory, or maybe it's entrenched in the athletic department? But it has to stop. The QB's don't need Toretta standing on the sidelines. We don't need Michael Irvin anywhere around the program. Just forget it. The players don't need Ray Lewis hanging around in the summer. It is completely different now.

We need coaches who want to build from the ground up a solid program. There are no short cuts. The 58 home win streak isn't going to help build the program. Watching The U and The U 2 should not even be allowed. Those days are over and have to bearing on building a winning program now.

I am tired of hearing about Swagger and confidence. Swagger has been taken out of the game. Some of you arent going to like this. You have that right to disagree. So be it.

Relying on the past for future results is silly but Miami would be foolish to distance themselves from Hall of Fame players willing to speak to the team for free.

You’re right, but that stuff dupes the masses and it sells tickets.

“The Past” is a giant paycheck for the university of miami
 
The past is all we have. Without it, we are Duke or Vandy. The bigger problem to me, is that we longer follow the model of the past, i.e. SPEED over size AND football players with grit and toughness over athletes. We no longer have innovative schemes and we no longer create a culture of competition, grit, and a will to win.

Getting back to speed it's nonsense. Everyone is fast. We've emphasized speed for decades now. The only thing we got was small guys who are bullied by slow guys with better coaches.

Half the SEC is BIG guys who are faster than our guys
