Autographed 1976 Topps Ted Hendricks Oakland Raiders Card Hall - Etsy

Guatemalan-born Miami University linebacker Ted Hendricks was one of the tallest linebackers ever in the NFL. He played 15 seasons in the NFL and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1990. This 1976 Topps card (#76) is in excellent condition, and, as you can see, the signature is a really nice example

FYI: Ted was w/ the Balt. Colts when I was being recruited to Miami. He came to our house one evening. It was really cool. He had to duck his head in order to get through the door; then sat down on the couch & his knees were above his head level. Neat time. He ate some of my Mom's apple pie & just talked about the Colts & the U.

After our 1st NC in the 80's, they held a game on the practice field between the current NC guys against the older, former guys who played football for Miami. Snelly was the coach for the old guys but can't remember who coached the young guys in this game which was hilarious. Everyone was in full uniform...the old guys could hardly get up from the stance. At a practice just prior to the game Ted Hendricks showed up in a limo with cases of ice cold beer. After a couple of beers a lot of the guys went over to Ted & Bill's (across Red Rd.) for hamburgers. We could smell the onions in our dorm from the grilling at Ted & Bill's. Wonder if any of you oldtimers attended that event. It was covered by the Herald and TV .
