You do realize he has no chance to win his side of CUSA even though he was picked top 2 with probably the most upperclassmen talent in the conference? Tremendous disappointment with a good team.

He's lost by double digits outright as 7+ favorite this season, has 3 losses of 28 or more, 1 as a 3 pt. underdog, and one as a favorite, and the other as an 11 pt. dog vs. an okay but nothing special rival FAU team. Basically none that on paper he should have been non-competitive in and he got boat raced

Being better than Manny Diaz doesn't make you a good coach either...This Davis has been an utter hack this season too.

My guy, FIU is a trash program w/ no history and we just lost to them at our old house. Everything said about Butch is a moot point right now. He also kicked our *** at UNC when UNC was a hack program. So maybe he's a hack until he plays Miami, either way, there's no excuse we should've lost to FIU, and I would definitely take a coach who has one foot in the grave over Diaz at this point. We need more, but as far as a band aid, Butch would've been just fine.

Davis is a dinosaur, and we wouldn't be where we need to be with him either

And you are calling FIU trash, but just realize they are only being asked to beat trash teams mostly and this guy out here getting boat raced in coin flip type games.

And I agree with you...No excuse at all to lose to them obviously. NONE

FIU had 2 winning season in 15 years before Butch got there. They will be going to a bowl in 3 straight years.

He's done a good job there.

They've been VERY VERY disappointing this year...Picked as a top 3, 4 at worst team in conference.

And I agree a fair job

OK, let me give you a little context; You are right, this season has been a disappointment for them, but their best year happens to be under Butch in which they won 9 games last year, and a bowl. That was their most successful season. Butch is about to have them win 6+ games in 3 straight years, which is unheard of for that program.

Prior to Davis, FIU's record was 56-122. (I'm including W's that were vacated, as well. If not, they would be 46-122). Davis is now 23-14 in two & half yrs, w/ 0 losing seasons. That's unheard of for this program.

It's easy to try to find fault w/ Davis, but the fact that he's taken over a true trash program w/ no resources or history and has won 62% of his games, thus far, is pretty good when you look at the complete picture. Hate on him all you want, but the fact is, put him w/ orange and green, along w/ a 30/30 special just airing about his accomplishments while here, along with parents still remembering what he did while at said school, and I bet my bottom dollar we would've won the ACC Coastal at least 2wice by now, while building up another roster full of future NFL guys.

I'm 99.2% certain of that. Dude may not be the greatest game day coach, but he still got moxy and beat our *** w/ an undisciplined team.

Stop. Arguing about Butch is pointless. He’ll coach at FIU until he decides to retire. He beat Manny, good for him. Last year Richt beat Butch like a bongo until he called off the dawgs early. 31-17 could have been much worse if we had an aggressive HC with an attitude.

Everyone move on.

The board is like an old married couple arguing about something that happened 20 years ago.
