Dawson didn’t say that on the sidelines, he said that to the announcers during an interview with them in preparation for the game. But I do agree with you on the rest of your points.Dawson said on the sidelines last week that the goal every week is to score 28 points… That on its own is an indictment of Dawson and mario both.
Whoever Mario gets to replace Dawson will be running his own version this offense. Let’s call it what it is… the prevent offense.
He told them that the previous season they knew that they had an elite offense before the season, and a crappy defense, since they knew that they had to score as much as possible in order to win games.
He said that this pre-season they knew that they had an elite defense, and that the plan was too not have to score more than 28 points per game in order to win. It’s obvious to anyone with eyes that they have purposefully slowed the game down and handcuffed our offense because they had a vision of what they wanted the team to look like.
The difference between great coaches and bad to mediocre ones is that a great coach creates schemes utilizing his players’ strengths, while bad ones try to fit players into their preferred schemes. Mario is the latter and a micro-manager.
