For Those That Still Believe…

Dawson said on the sidelines last week that the goal every week is to score 28 points… That on its own is an indictment of Dawson and mario both.

Whoever Mario gets to replace Dawson will be running his own version this offense. Let’s call it what it is… the prevent offense.
Dawson didn’t say that on the sidelines, he said that to the announcers during an interview with them in preparation for the game. But I do agree with you on the rest of your points.

He told them that the previous season they knew that they had an elite offense before the season, and a crappy defense, since they knew that they had to score as much as possible in order to win games.

He said that this pre-season they knew that they had an elite defense, and that the plan was too not have to score more than 28 points per game in order to win. It’s obvious to anyone with eyes that they have purposefully slowed the game down and handcuffed our offense because they had a vision of what they wanted the team to look like.

The difference between great coaches and bad to mediocre ones is that a great coach creates schemes utilizing his players’ strengths, while bad ones try to fit players into their preferred schemes. Mario is the latter and a micro-manager.

…that Dawson is the problem, I give you the following sobering stat.

In Shannon Dawson’s 14 years as an OC, he has only had three seasons with an average ppg under 30.

He’s had 5 seasons with average ppg above 40.

6 seasons in the 32-35 range.

In 2 of those 3 seasons under 30, his boss has been Mario Cristobal.

Also, Beck threw for almost 4000 yards in back to back seasons and for a bunch of TD’s, now he looks like he’s never played the position.

Some of you need to open up your eyes and accept the truth.
Do we really need yet another post cherry picking stats to say that Mario sucks?

Considering the title of the thread, I clicked on the post because I was expecting some sort of evangelical blessing.

Think Dawson and Mario are much more peas in a pod than one is holding the other back. Dawson took the job cause he knew Mario was a fan of tuff and fyzikal football and running between the tackles, and Dawson had married a simple, a/b-gap heavy run game with air raid passing concepts at Southern Miss and Houston. Mario was looking to broaden his horizons from the Michigan copycat passing game while maintaining the identity in the rushing game he is in thrall to. Unless Mario lobotomizes his offensive philosophy in the off-season, doubt he'll find a marginally better OC than Dawson and likely will find someone worse.

Kentucky? Really? When has Kentucky ever had a dominant, high powered offense? Specially under Stoops, who might be one of the few corches that’s more conservative in his approach than Wario.
the following year after Dawson, they averaged 25.3 ppg.

It’s not all Mario, it’s not all Shannon, it’s not all Beck and it’s not all the officiating.

It’s a combination of all those factors that have tripped us up this season.

Well said

Some of these idiots just cannot help themselves…Get to a keyboard… And just let it all spew out…So funny

Beck has been border line awful without Brock Bowers and Ladd Mckonkey
