I DO NOT want cristobal at HC.

I gotta think he left because he saw the crap that was being run here AND was offered a raise to leave.

Barrow sick it out but HAD ENOUGH...

So is Mario a traitor or had the sense to realize what we all watched unfold and or had been predicted?

I was waiting for someone to bring up Mario. I can't believe this is the first time we've brought his name up around here.
 
I don't NOT want him as our coach because he left. I don't want him as our coach because he isn't good enough.

I just was adressing the consensus that he is a traitor. Just giving an alternate POV.

I Dont think his track record warrants a discussion for HC coming from myself

There are two other threads in the top ten on this page that are directly talking about Mario. But, by all means, put your opinion in a new thread so we know exactly where you stand.

I think most people don't want Mario here because he sucks as a coach, not because he skipped out on the Golden clown show.
 
I do not want Mario as coach because he is not good enough. But I think some people wonder why the BOT would hold it against Butch for leaving and not Mario for the way he left.

That is a new one. He could forge strong ties to the Cuban community. As a community activist, he could be strong presidential material.

As a head coach? **** NO!!!

He's not a hc or even a good position coach. Make him director of football operations or ad that's the only two places he belongs n would accel at tremendously.
 
Cristobal is not a good coach...

there's a reason why no other schools are inquiring about him. there's a reason why bama fans would like to see him leave. he can't even coach up a position full of 4 and 5 star rated players....how the f can he coach a whole football team

I agree. If you notice the only people on Goldens staff are guys that do/did not have better opportunities. Cristobol did not have a job so of course he wasn't going to turn down an op to work locally and at his alma mater. When the opportunity came for a "real" job he was probably "thank you Jesus"! I'd be willing to bet he shared some laughs with his Bama coaches about Al and his BS.

FYI, Not my choice, but wouldn't be upset if he is chosen, because I'm sure he's a better coach after his Bama experience.

I do not want him as head coach either, but can you blame him for leaving after he probably saw the mess that would transpire with Golden and Donofrio here? I would want no part of that sh*t also.

So he is a traitor for leaving, but Butch Davis isn't?

I want Butch back because he is a beast of a coach, but let's not get it twisted....Butch did us dirty back then as well.

Mario is Cuban. My wife Cuban. After 34 years I feel confident in saying Mario ran to the $$$$. I believe they are know as the Jews of the Caribbean. My first wife was ****** and they have nothing on Cubans. Still I am not sure that makes Mario a "traitor". Being half Italian, I'll take the money and run too. That does not mean he should be our next HC. He has not displayed anything to make me think he is the right choice at all.

Couldn't give a **** about him bailing. If anything, that's the type of cutthroat attitude we need from our next coach.

I don't think he is good enough. Let him go prove he can win a conference at UCF or contend with the big boys at Rutgers. That's the type of job he should be in the running for. We shouldn't be experimenting yet again. People made a good point when they asked "if any other Top 30 job opened, would he even get a call?" The answer is unequivocally NO.
