I was listening to The 1st Team on satellite radio this morning, and they were discussing the South Carolina job.

A caller suggested Jimbo Fisher, thinking the SEC would be a promotion from FSU. The hosts disagreed, and offered their opinions on a replacement ...

And who did they think should be the first call?

Justin Fuente, from Memphis.

They followed that up by saying by suggesting Fuente might not feel like that's the best job offer available to him.

Can some of yall imagine that? A "MAC coach" might think the South Carolina job, in the SEC East, is beneath him??

But, yeah ... Miami hiring Justin Fuente would be us "settling for MAC coach" ...

Have some vision, fellas!

If JF wins his conference in dominating fashion, he should be considered. What "Weight" his consideration is given is another matter.

Anyone who wouldn't hire a coach just because he came from the same conference as al is an idiot.

Keep in mind Al never won said conference. In retrospect it is easy to see Al's qualifications were not as good as advertised.

Doesn't matter what conference you coach in.

What matters is if you can win consistently in that conference.

You can only beat the teams you play.

Fuente is intriguing cause he won 10 games with one recruiting class ranked in the top 5 in the AAC since he's been there.

He's actually had pretty bad recruiting classes relative to his peers but seems that he's our coaching them all

Not in favor of Fuente, JMO. I think he's the benefit of a weaker conference and a very skilled QB. Don't see a difference between him and Golden.

Justin Fuente's career record as a coach is 22-20

That is WORSE than Al Golden at Temple

**** outta here with this Justin Fuente garbage.

The dude has multiple losses to Middle Tennessee.....Christ almighty people

The Latin Al Golden. SMH. **** outta here

A few things:

1. Al had a 27-34 record at Temple. Al's career record is 58-58. Fuente has a better record overall and versus Al's time at Temple.

2. Al never won the conference at Temple. Fuente won the conference in year 3.

3. Al never won 10 in a row. Fuente currently has won 12 in a row.

4. Al never won 10 games or a bowl game, Fuente did it in year 3.

Seriously? Don't see the difference?

Golden never won the conference, 10 games, a bowl game, 10 in a row (Fuente has 12 in a row) etc. No difference. Fuente is capable of beating Cincinnati and Golden (at Miami) is not. That is a fun but irrelevant difference.

Weaker conference? Look at the conference now. There is some good coaches there (Herman, Rhule, Montgomery and Morris).

The QB who he recruited and developed and only had an offer from FAMU?
