Besides team effort and King leadership I am just not seeing it. Glad we won but it is what it look.
OL - Getting manhandled gane by game. Even pass protection looks worse.

Play calling - is just dysfunctional and limited.

King - good leader but after that?

WR - Catch the ball today but still looking for the freshman's chance to orove something.

DL? No presuure all game against a weaker oponnent.

LB - Hard pass

CB - Even

Safety - with Carter on the Vench we are much better.

DC - First half look terrible but some adjustment on second part of kast two games.

Diaz - baby steps..

Opininios?

Not trying to be overly pessimistic but this team is not heading in the right direction heading into the bye week. I think the next tough leg is coming up and we really look slightly above average. We have not won a game coming out of the bye under Manny which is not encouraging looking the way we just played.

Where we were never in the game. The team is trending in the wrong direction and you can't deny that.

lol thats ridiculous. trending in the wrong direction would've been actually losing one of these two games. theyre heading into the bye w a lot to work on, but theyre heading into the bye where they needed to be at this point -- 5-1. theyre not elite but theyre about as good as every other ******* college team not in the top 3. not a lot separates the fourth best team from the 50th best team as we've seen. thats just the season this year given the circumstances and all. again, they got a lot to work on so they cant come out ****y against NCSU. i expect a MUCH better performance that friday night otherwise you will be right

You ******* mopes. We are 5-1 with only loss coming to #1.
I'll take 5-1 not complaining at all about that. Having said that if you believe that 5-1 makes us some acending team that's building up to compete for something...thats false hope.
We are an average team.

Sorry Hoops156, but you're wrong. Trending in the wrong direction not in wins or losses, however that's what's at stake if the team doesn't clean up some things that are trending downward like lack of discipline from our guys, lack of focus on D, King's indecisiveness in the pocket, poor tackling, can't set the edges, Lashlee's vanilla playcalling, etc...

the D for the most part stiffened up in the second half after UVA ran a billion trick plays in the first half with 18 diff QBs. what we missed was a good offense last night as lashlee had a poor game i agree. our second half D with an even average O performance esp on the ground, we win going away as we got the stops esp early on in the second half. OL was very poor yesterday but King as a passer was good yesterday. we've cleaned up our penalties the last few weeks which were an issue early on. the blades **** up was bad but dude was just lost in space. again, this team isnt perfect and cant expect them to be esp given where our holes (esp in a night like last night where you lose a lot of your freshman some of whom play a ton of snaps (Flagg and Restrepo). what we are is about where everyone else is as a team outside the top 3 -- average to above average and can be had any week if youre not up for it. we saw that with penn state, UF, UNC, ND had an UGLY win vs Louisville at home, and so on and so forth. the rest of the country is about the same. i think a lot of you need to forget what the canes used to be. IT WILL NEVER EVER HAPPEN. we wont be 80s canes, alabama, clemson. not in todays current college football climate. we wont compete in that range. were not dropping 8 mill plus on an elite coach down here and thats the only way to get something close to a quick turnaround (remember this is a team that hasnt been good in a decade plus so it isnt coming in off a few bad years, its trying to clean up 15 years of bad to average football at best). its going to be incremental improvements each week. the next step for this team is to come out clean and ready off a bye. they can have an ugly W (their first real one of the season), but they cant have multiple ugly Ws which is what 2017 was. lashlee also has to improve. it would be nice to get jordan back for NCSU as well

so is all of college football outside of three teams man. you can make an argument everyone from 4-100 is average to above at best and can lose any week. ****, two straight weeks the fifth ranked team lost to some real bad teams. the third ranked team barely snuck out a W at home against a bad Louisville team too. its just the reality of college football right now. there is a HUGE gap between the third best team (OSU) and everyone else. as it relates to miami, we can play better. king can be better and our OL can be better esp from yesterday. our run game has been non-existent the last three weeks (two of those came against top tier DLs, but still have to find a way to gain yards in order for this O to be effective esp with our limitations at WR and injuries to the TEs). our D (pass D especially) can be better. on the DL, man we get held a **** ton and esp last night, but UVA is a good OL and held up pretty well against Clemson as well. lots of room to improve for this team and it starts now. we have a bye and enough film to see where we have warts and five straight games to close the year. this is where we show the next step in improving -- closing the season out and cleaning up. we have no reasons not to outside of covid (which this would hurt this team more than others given how we rely on so many young players to play a ton of snaps)
