first back to back 9 win seasons in eight years

Yeah, I wouldn't consider this season a failure at all. More like last season, a missed opportunity and disappointment.

But we are building and I'm well aware of where we were.

We also have to realize 2 things:

1. Mario is in no way shape or form an elite coach.
2. Mario is also going to be here for a long time as long as he stays in the 8-10 win category.

Give it time. These things aren't easy to turn around. Just ask LSU, USC, Texas, etc.

Took Harbaugh **** near a decade.
 
It’s a raising of the floor and this is what Mario does for us. I don’t expect much more than this. He’s just not going to put it all together that way but we are a competitive, respectable program again and that’s an improvement. It’s not enough in my opinion based on the resources allocated but it’s an improvement. Hopefully we’ll get lucky one of these seasons and not lose games we shouldn’t and take a step forward as to getting to the ACCCG//CFB Playoffs.

this was the similar narrative for harbough, les myles, and countless other coaches ... just keep winning ... we have a shot at back to back double digit win seasons ... haven't done it in 20+ years

It is what it is. The floor has been raised to respectable program and Mario is here for years to come. We can certainly get to an ACCCG and/or CFB playoff game one of these seasons. We technically can get to the CFB playoff this season. I don’t think we will but that’s also what it is.

Oh boy.

We were 8-4 in 2016 and our bowl game made it 9. However, according to everyone on this site those are meaningless… so…
