I see on another site we got Zack Moss about to commit. I know there's a good chance with McIntosh. Where we at with Fils-Aime? How many backs will we take max?

2016 RB Deon McIntosh should be a lock to Miami with his brother signing with Miami in 2015 an they were supposedly a pack deal. Also Zack Moss is most likely a Full Back in College so even if UM takes his commitment he will be more of a FB and short yardage power back, were as McIntosh and Carlin Fils-Aimes are scat back types that swing out to the slot position or play in space a la Joe Yearby.

Not to mention if Gus Edwards has a big year he is gone to the NFL, which will leave Joe Yearby, Walter Tucker (who most likely will leave for the Olympics), and Mark Walton as UM's only scholarship backs an generally a team needs 7 or 8 RB's on the roster. So I could see UM taking 4 or 5 RB in this class.

You really think Walter Tucker could leave for the Olympics? I have no idea so not saying your wrong, would just be surprising I guess...

He skipped track last year so he could focus on football. But keep in mind in High School as senior he ran the fastest high school time in the nation for the 110m hurdles.

Here is an article about his Track stardom and UM Recruitment.

I am just hoping Al Golden doesn't bulk this kid up to where Tucker loses his chance. He should be between 215lbs and 220lbs tops. An truthfully after watching last years spring game Tucker should have been Miami #2 Running Back, but for some reason Golden & James Coley are not utilizing him with more carries.

I will say this Tucker does seem to lack vision in the hole an tends to just want to run people over even though he could out run them. I wish he could have redshirted an just focused on truly learning the RB position rather than flipping back an forth between LB and RB.

But let's see how things play out both with Tucker and the number of RB's taken by UM in the 2016 class.

I mean what's the worst that could happen if you take 4 running back commitments, I'm sure it's highly unlikely you only end up with one. :)

Recently saw a picture of Tucker and he seems to have put on a ton weight and muscle. Is he even running track these days, looks like a FB to me.

Tucker will not be headed to the Olympics... paranoid Is full of ****. Tucker quit tuning track at UM. He's not all of a sudden lace up and run in the Olympics.

The article clearly says Tucker had the 8th fastest (13.83) in HS at that particular time....by comparison Burns ran a 13.35 and Devon Allen (Oregon WR) won the NCAA with a 13.16

Tucker isn't going to the Olympics, Danny....

Mentioned this in another thread and I'll put it here too.

Of the backs we have offered and have interest in, my priority list would be.

1. Fils-Aime
2a.Killins
2b. Homer
3a. McIntosh
3b. Smith
4. Wilson
5. Moss

Give me two from the top 3 I listed and take one of those two as an athlete and we should close up shop. 2017 has more pure dominant backs in the state. Lot of these guys are tweeners or utility types except for Fils-Aime.

Can't assume either that all these targets would come. Everyone is different. Not every single kid just wants to come to Miami.

RB Carlin Fils-Aime considered #Miami commitment (VIP) http://miami.247sports.com/Article/RB-Carlin-Fils-Aime-Considered-Miami-Commitment-36674529 … via @InsideTheU

Summary please?

Naples running back Carlin Fils-Aime has only visited Miami and that’s happened at least three times so it’s the only college campus he really knows for now.

The Hurricanes were also Fils-Aime’s (5-11, 175) first offer last spring. So how much do they still want him to join the country’s 2nd ranked recruiting class?

“I’ll talk to Coach Scott when he’s not too busy but it’s not that much actually,” Fils-Aime said. “Sooner or later it will pick up but it’s fine. They can let me know if they really want me but I think they do. He always says he wants me to commit and he wishes I had already.”

Fils-Aime lives with his teammate and Miami cornerback commitment, Tyler Byrd. Spending so much time around that influence has tempted him to end the process early.

“Of course I have, we live together so the first thing I hear waking up every day is the ‘U’,” Fils-Aime said. “That gets to you being around it 24/7 so I’ve thought about it a couple of times. I want to but then again, I also want to wait until I see if another school might catch my attention. I shouldn’t commit anywhere unless I’m sure of it.”

The pair even took their most recent visit together for Miami’s last junior day except they brought some company along from Southwest Florida.

“We went back after Byrd committed with a friend and my brother,” Fils-Aime said. “His parents came too and they showed us all around the school. They explained what it’s all about and what they have to offer.”

Fils-Aime has Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Louisville, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, South Carolina, and Tennessee among his fifteen offers.

“I’m waiting until the summer to say who I like because that’s when I get to visit schools,” Fils-Aime said. “Hopefully I’ll know by then but if not, I can always take more time to figure it out. Auburn is for sure, probably Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, and Duke. I spoke with my dad about Tennessee, hopefully that works. I’ll fly up to Michigan with him and I’ll fly to Boston College with my mother.”

Fils-Aime has learned to pay close attention to the coaches recruiting him. Then he’ll go back and check their facts to see where they fall on the honesty spectrum.

“I’ve spoken with quite a few running backs coaches so that’s a big part,” Fils-Aime said. “What separates them is if they’re an honest person or not. I’ve had them tell me something about their school and when I look it up, it says differently. What they said might be there is not what they really have.”

Fils-Aime’s junior season ended with an ankle injury but he had 26 carries for 232 yards and 3 touchdowns in the first three games. As a sophomore, he racked up 873 yards and 15 scores on only 92 attempts.

Fils-Aime is a four star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite, ranking him 21st in the nation at his position and 47th overall in the state of Florida.

Wow we are not recruiting him hard. that is crazy. did not know Byrd lived with him which is even crazier that we are not recruiting him hard. I respect the kid though. he wanted to pull the trigger but taking his time. thats how it should be if your not 100% sure.
