This guy breaks down like a HS coach explaining the position to his
players, and I mean this as a compliment.

Also, Congdon may have come from a small school, but someone coached
him up well.

 

Nice film breakdown, Landon. Good to see that his recognition is so quick, which allows him to play fast.

Kinda crazy seeing him lined up next to Samson. Pancake is not a small guy yet Congdon makes him look like a basketball player.

I think it’s been spelled out he was banged up too as well still learning all the protections. Probably a huge reason you have Pancake making so many Oline calls as OP pointed out on the film session. That’s not something you see especially happening with the starting LT.

Usually all the protection calls come from the QB and center. We need to see Congdon grow from here though with all of the LG reps.

 

 

Im excited, once the other guard spot is settled we may have a real oline. Thats the only thing holding the team back from a championship run imo.

 

I don’t like publicly putting down any players but he needs to be an emergency Oline sub situation at G going forward.

Partially true here. They all communicate. Protections start with the center but adjustments can come from guards and tackles especially calling out stunts based on alignment. Just signs of a well prepped unit.

Of course they all communicate. You don’t see your LT pointing out the calls and overflow all the time to the LG like that. I love to see it from our team.

leave SJ alone.. we are going to need him at points this season. Just hopefully not for extended periods.

I just rewatched the game completely focused on the offensive line. Holy **** is there a complete 180 in our entire lines performance when 58 is in over 65. Film don't lie and Mirabal has absolutely no excuse to play SJ for another second at Guard again. Congdon is ahead of him NOW and his ceiling is higher. SJ is a center and that is that.

 

All hail King Congdon!

 

Not only SJ, but Mccoy is getting worked at RT. We need Cantwell to take that spot asap, and let Mccoy go back to guard. That lineup needs to start getting chemistry together yesterday, as it is by far the best for a playoff run. I hope we see it soon.

Congdon exceeded SJs snap count at G despite not starting at all. Seemed like they tried it one final time and then had enough. Made the most of it. Ironically, SJ played 2nd C and snapped the ball well. No idea what to make of the "No one can snap" chatter...
